Default Should have purchased them......... :(

Advertise Here

A few months ago I was going to buy a 10/22 and maybe a glock and did not. Now I am regretting not. I had a 10/22 and an SKS a long time ago but had to get rid of them.
I did purchase lots of ammo before the California ammo registration thing went into affect, But I dont own any guns.
I figure I would get them to have on hand or maybe I can throw them at the bad guys........... LOL

Well you can probably sell it right now for a pretty penny, then when it calms down, buy a gun AND ammo instead of just one or the other.

Excellent. Now yer catching on.

Seriously, in such a dire situation, you might consider a 'Big Bore PCP', ie: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Drago...ifle/2500#7796

..Yeah, 'spendy for an air rifle', but.. a .50cal 336gr pill sent downrange @ 650-700fps is nothing to argue with... Impressed the hello outta Me (for what it Is..) And the 'air bolts' are nothing short of holy-crap!! penetration-power, Wow... There's vids out there of them being shot thru Both sides of a Durango (iirc..)

..And yeah, you're gonna have to invest in a Tank (but just go to a dive shop / get a 80cf tank w/ a 'K-valve'..) and Adapter, and a hand (or mini-compressor) pump / seals / spare parts kit, etc - Yer gonna drop a serious Dime to get all set-up at this point, but..

a) No pesky 'ihre Papiere bitte' - at All, either here in KA, or Federally, and b) 'Look Ma, no position-revealing muzzle flash!'

Of Course, it's not gonna even be as fast a reload as a Lever-action, or, hit Nearly as hard or as Far, as any actual Firearm, but.. At this point.. What are your other (even fairly-good) options? Air-soft replica and a Prayer?

..Might also consider this guy: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Senec...Air_Rifle/4715 ..since it's no tank Required, but.. Also not avail in anything larger than .25, and, well.. Believe me when I say the .50 cal is Plenty Lethal, if / when it might Need to be..

I'd recommend giving these a serious consider, at least.. While you still Can..

I've done that for guns I'm planning to buy.

I always had other guns at the time though.

That looks really cool and I love building things but.......
Unfortunately the Polymer80 is not legal in CA.
CA has a specific list of handguns that can be owned and the polymer80 is not on that list.

It's an 80% receiver and not considered a firearm until it's completed.
Reading around online it looks like CA residents need to apply (pay for) a Serial Number from California.

If you were worried about being the next Reginald Denny, you could build this now and then once the pandemic is over, replace the lower with a factory serialized frame:

That's really sad.

Meanwhile in my part of America, I was looking at Glocks, normal priced 10/22's, and many, many other guns just yesterday. and ammo for all of them was on the shelves. 30% off sale on all .40's and 1911's, I could have walked out with one in 15 minutes assuming the NICS people weren't slow....I REALLY had to resist.

Rural Utah is just different from pretty much everywhere else.

How do you know the gun you eventually get, will shoot that ammo well?

I have a 6.5 CM AR upper that I built, it shoots all the various ammo I have tried well enough, but some of it is really, really accurate, and it isn't the expensive stuff.

That said, there's nothing wrong with buying what's on sale when it is on sale at the right price.

Admit your mistake, sell the ammo and purchase a nice PCP rifle. I have 177 and 22. both are nice the 22 is more accurate over 25 yards. both are quiet. Pumping them up is a pain, but you only need to do it every 20-30 shots. A hunting buddy has a .30 cal PCP. I have seen him shoot turkey and squirrel with it. I received an email from pyramyd that they have a sale on refurbished rifles. they will ship to California. Just a thought but a good PCP will cost more than a Ruger 10/22. buy some quality pellets while you are at it

I donít. It was $5.50/ box of 20 Winchester. I bought 20. I could pull the bullets and load the unfired primed brass and be way head if they donít.

No it isn't any different here except if you have a ccw...no call in. Just fill out the 4473 and show your ccw....pay for the gun...walk out with the gun.

I looked into it and the handgun must be on the authorized list of safe guns that California allows to be sold here. If it is not, you can still get a SN for the lower but you cannot complete it for the above stated reason.
I know that sounds crazy but thats the way it is. I did find one person on youtube that was able to do this but, I think that was before certain laws went into effect.

And its getting worse, . If you have not purchased a gun recently you need to pass an elibility check, show ID and pay a transaction fee($19), you are issued an ATN (ammo transaction number) and wait up to 10 days to take posession of the ammo. After that you will still need to show ID evertime you buy ammo but not wait the 10 days.

As of jan 1 2021 in CA. you will only be allowed to purchase one guy a month and that is only one of 15 new gun laws that the new CA gov. signed into law that the former governer would not.

Kalifornia hates people like you, and they are going to make you an outlaw whether you like it or not. Might as well be an outlaw with a gun.
