Over the years many have taken the same role as you and several others and have said nearly the exact same things as you have here. It's almost as if there are about a dozen scripts that are used over and over. Everyone fits neatly into their assigned role, you, AZ Highcountry, Tenngrizz, even Putnam. Internet forums are like the movie Groundhog Day for me so I long ago learned to find hidden value in these forums. Even though I have been here Im the stranger in these here parts riding into the town to watch ya'll paint it red.
But...are you finding hidden value in these forums? What friendships have you forged? What industry partnerships and relationships have you formed? Who sends you kit to T&E on their dime because they value your contributions? How have you gained anything ASIDE from entertainment? You're eating the peeling and ignoring the apple.

Actually most are here to glean knowledge; trolls notwithstanding.

I don't come to internet forums for friendship. It sounds like you and I have far different definitions of friendship. The friends I have would step in front of a bullet to save my life and I would do the same for them. If you haven't noticed there are not a whole lot of advertisers here. If you are looking for T&E kit this is not where you go to post. I have made reviews on other forums on optical equipment that I have received at no cost directly from the manufacturer. My purpose here is to remind you all that sitting on the couch is not patriotism. I am here to shame you into being better Americans.

So...you're leveraging it wrong, is what I'm hearing. You're blind to who you're talking to on this forum, and this proves it.

Well most of you are still practicing for the next hot dog eating contest but a few have indicated that they are ready to put the jelly donuts down and give up the life of a disgusting fat body. With my tough love approach there might be hope for America after all.

I am giving serious consideration to developing a training syllabus on how to go from out shape geek getting sand kicked in your face at the beach to Alpha Male Mega Testosterone Berzerker in 60 days.

I think 1-8 variable optics are a mistake. I would prefer optics that are 2 setting , either no magnification or 8x. That way you could also let a lot more light in.

I’ve seen an Israeli company that made a product like this. I don’t know why we aren’t seeing more. It was hell of expensive if I recall.

3-6x has great utility.

Say you want as much magnification as possible, but you, as you say, need more light transmission? Go as high as you can, stop when it gets too dark.

Say you're watching a structure with multiple windows (or a deer/hog feeder), and you want to see all the windows at once (or all the lanes to the feeder, or whatever)...you adjust up to as much mag as you can while still having viable FOV.

Then there is mirage. Same story.

This is why I am a fan of FFP LPVOs. The subtensions are always true, regardless of how you're using it, or if you change mag fast and dont sink it at 8x, but stop at 6.75 of whatever by accident, your holds aren't all wonky.

What's wrong with hot dogs? Nothing like a Hebrew National every now and then. Besides, how could I possibly ever trust someone who won't eat a good old fashioned American hot dog?

I think he better be careful insulting fat couch riders, he might lose the 3 people left on this board that still buy his bovine excrement.
