Default Anyone here have a Savage Axis II in 6.5 Creedmoor?

Wal-Mart carries them and the .30-06 version, without scope, for under $300.
I missed the last one in 6.5 Creedmoor and I have a good .30-06 so I am hoping they will get one in soon. (They can't order at this time, one more dumb Corvid19 excuse)

Anyway, the reviews I have seen were very good for such an inexpensive platform. I have owned other Savages with the same trigger and I like it a lot.

The stock seems a bit light and I am hoping that they get the wood stock version in. The other stores have them for over $100 but with the scope, but, from what I have read, the scope is not worth dialing in and most folks immediately replace it anyway.

I love my axis in .223, its accurate, i put a nikon scope on it & i use it for coyote.

Im sure one in 6.5 creedmore will be good, just invest in a good scope. Plus savage has great customer service.

My nephew purchased one in 6.5 CM, heavy barrel, about 2 years ago. Both of us shoot long range (1000yards). It’s an EXCELLENT shooter.

Wood or plastic stock? When I picked up the .30-06 it seemed a bit out of balance towards the barrel side.

I threaded the barrel and installed the brake as soon as we removed it from the box. It’s a sweetheart to shoot.

I didn't end up with an Axis II, but found an Axis 6.5 Creedmoor at Wally World on final clearance for $198 + tax. I also found some Federal Match ammo at Walmart for $7 a box of 20 also on final clearance. (different Walmart) They sell boxes of 60 Winchester 125 grn for $43. (My dies are on the way. )

I was only able to get to a 25 yard range so far but they go through the same hole at that distance.
Hopefully out to a longer range next week.

(Scope and bipod not included.)
