Default Crook neck squash in the fall?

I live in central florida and I love yellow squash and so do my kids, I planted a ton of it in march 09 and we mowed through it in no time at all, and I was wondering what everybody thinks about planting some now. I was told that florida should have a mild winter but I have not looked in to it to see if that's true or not.

You'll get some, but it'll get too cold in January. You should have put it in the middle of Sept. You'll be getting frost the mid-end of December

Yeah about that. You can cover it on frost nights, You shouldn't get a hard freeze until about mid Jan. Sometimes it happens sooner, but you can count on it in mid Jan.
