Exclamation MSM determines the presidential candidates

Advertise Here

My first year of college in the 60's, I took a course on political science. The only thing I remember about that course was, "Name recognition is by far the most important factor when it comes to any election."

In the race for candidates in the 2020 election, in the democrat race, the main stream media, regardless of whether it is MSNBC, ABC, Fox, or CBS, although there are many running, citizens hear a little about Amy Clobachar, Kamala Harris and Pete Beutegeig, but very little. You hear about Biden, Sanders, and Warren, with Biden the most. But you hear almost nothing about the rest. And recently Bloomberg is threatening to use his own money to advertise his name, but if he enters the race the MSM will be for who has the best ratings.

In the republican race, President Trump is not the only republican running. There are two or three more--a billionaire named Tom Seyer who uses his money to advertise, and some other former politician who no one ever hears of. We hear about Trump constantly.

The media seems to believe that the American public is too dumb to make their own determination so the MSM has to make it for them. So as of now Biden is probably going to go against Trump. Most people in this country listen to very little news. They watch soaps, sitcoms, and sports. They can be led like sheep. President Trump's name is by far the most recognizable of the MSM candidates or even more than Bloomberg. President Trump IMO has almost no chance to lose.

LOL you just proved your point about the public paying little to no attention.

Tom Seyer is running as a Democrat... and its spelled "Steyer"

I tend to agree with the OP to a certain point. Most (not all) libs and progs are spoon-fed their info by a few of the big media sources. And they believe everything without checking it to see if it's true. Even when a report is proven to be false, it's too late. It's their new gospel and they continue to parrot it, refusing to believe it wasn't true.

Remember the 2016 election. Sanders was found to be lacking compared to the "political genius" of Clinton. The media gushed about her and the DNC helped by sidelining Sanders. The libs followed the piper.

Their polls showed she was unbeatable. The libs and to some extent, the progs were on board. Of course some of the progs were upset Bernie got sidelined, but the media portrayed the big "H" as the answer and they flocked to her flag.

Meanwhile, those same media sources took every opportunity to publish everything bad about Trump. Even some of those things since proved fake are still part of the left's mantra. And even today, some of them will bring those up.

Meanwhile Trump ran a campaign and it resonated with enough people so he won the election. Then those same media sources started posting stories that the big "H" actually won because of the popular vote so she actually won. Still repeated today by many libs.

Now the same media will showcase anyone who claims the EC is no good and the popular vote is what counts in a "democracy" and never point out that we aren't a democracy; we are a republic. And so it goes.

When Truman, a democrat, ran against Dewey, a republican, the people must have been in the dark. The famous picture when Truman held up the newspaper that read "Dewey beats Truman", showed a big err.

As for me misspelling the name of Steyer just shows that his name is not out in the public eye enough to be known.

But the public is probably getting tired of hearing about impeachment just as they were with the Mueller report. But they recognize the Trump name more than any other, so he will most likely win the election in 2020. And since most Americans are Christians and most Christians are evangelicals, he will get most of that vote. Most Mormons (That church says they have 6.5 million members in the U.S.) will vote republican because their leaders do. It may even be a landslide. The republicans don't seem to be divided like the democrats.

The MEDIA has been "(s)electing" the presidents since 2000 directly. And before that, they exerted a huge influence on the PTB. Or vice versa. All part of the Socialist plan.

For funzies, find and read a copy of Marshall MacLuhan's "The Media is the Message"

That was required reading for some class I had in college, a long time ago. I'm not worried about the socialists. Throughout history the people with money have the power and they rule the world, not union activists or immigrants with rocks and sticks. Money is what finances armies. Money buys groceries that fill the bellies of conquering armies, not ideas. Hitler had ideas but the Rothchildd's and others' money fed his army. And remember a Bible verse that says, "The love of money is the root of all evil."
