Actually red states get more back from federal taxes per capita.
A substantial proportion of washington state homeless came here from out of state. The busing proposal would send them back to where family live and hopefully would have a support system. Right now seattle and king county spend about $100,000 per homeless. That does not include things like policing or emergency care. Although a lot of that cost is for bureaucracy, building housing for homeless is very expensive. Plus there is a lot of crime. Having up to a gram of drugs is not prosecuted here, based on a decision by local prosecutors.

If, and I don't know if it's true or not, red States get more; one must ask what they are doing with that money that seems to keep them more successful than the blue ones.
WHY would homeless people flock to blue States? Could it be because they have a better chance at a good job? Hell no. It's the shot at free stuff and no drug prosecution. The red States are meanies and think people should work for a living, not depend on charity. And many of these homeless are druggies. Family and friends are done with them. States don't want them back because they are non-productive trouble.
$100000 per homeless!!! That's INSANE!!!
And is that annually?
Stop all this social support for the unwilling. Let nature weed out the undesirables. Those who are willing to change, become clean and productive will find a way. The rest can just clog the sewer with their corpses.

Heres a map.

While California now gets $12 more per person than it sends to feds, expect that to change with $10,000 cap on state and local taxes deduction.
Washington state here still is in top ten getting a negative amount from feds. Don't know the amount but remember the deficit is because the feds send out more than they receive.

$100,000 each per year, over $1,000,000,000, they say need more money to fix. That's seattle and king county.
Homeless criminals are released without bond since they have no money. The seattle courthouse is one of the danger areas with homeless camp and services nearby. The sheriff was even attacked a couple years ago there.
