Default $7 clearance Ontario Rat I Aus-8

So I was milling around at a Walmart in New Mexico at the knife counter to see if they had anything interesting. I did see a nice Buck (US made version) that was assisted open, not sure of the model. It was sitting above a price tag of $17.87, I was thinking there is no way, so I asked the guy at the counter to price check it. Of course, he was like it's $38 and change

So there was another older guy standing there and was asking me if I knew what the legal length of blades was in New Mexico. So I looked it up for him and told him from what I could find, that NM didn't have a firm definition on length, they just define "deadly weapons" etc. So he told me about a knife he saw at the other Super Walmart in town, he said it was Ontario and it was a folder, that it was upside down on the top shelf of the knife display cabinet and that when he asked about the price the person said $13. For whatever reason, he didn't want it (probably because of the blade length). So I drove down and it was still there. I asked the girl to price check it and she said $7. I said OK, well "i guess" I'll take it for that, LOL

When I got it out of the blister pack it did have a small bur at the tip of the blade from the factory grind, I took that off in a few minutes and it's good to go. Can't beat a $7 RAT I

Kinda wish there was 10 of them at that price. I already have about four RAT I's, but at $7, I'd buy them all day. It's the green version no serrations.

If I shipped at Wall Mart anymore I'd go check.

Anyway... Nice score!

Last good Walmart deal I got was from their web site. Fallkniven F1 with the black coating and the leather sheath for $20. I bought five. Sold/shipped by Walmart (though there's probably an affiliate involved). Quality and details are too good for them to be fakes, and four of the boxed had the verifiable holographic sticker. Street price on these is $120. each.
