West Virginia was the last state to get the Virus. Because it has such a limited amount of people passing through it. Little industry and few well paying jobs largely discourage liberals from living here. The gas industry is a big thing here, which causes people to strongly reject the Democrat traitor party here due to its views on that. And the gun laws allow anyone over 21 without a felony or domestic violence conviction to carry a handgun concealed without any permitting needed. So petty crime gets shot down here since lots of people carry. People are polite, as in not breaking into others' sentences while talking. Country music in most convenience stores. Low land taxes ($542/year for my house on 50 acres). I can legally shoot turkeys and deer from my back porch on my own land without any hunting license required. No building permits needed where I live. Negligible racial isues since there is negligible diversity. Grinding white poverty, though in lotsa places. Lotsa houses with only wood heating, old cars/pickups, metal junk in yards, people relying on food banks and hunting to eat. Gas well tending, prison staffing, convenience stores, and social security are the main sources of income in my county. But people mind their own business and expect the same of others. Freedom!
First ... I'd always choose northern states due to fewer bugs and less chance of illegals and folks of their ilk.
I would look at Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and maybe northern Nevada. Years ago I would have included Colorado but that state has gone full Libtard in recent years.
I told y’all Arkansas was the worst but recently it got much worse. A man and his husband were not allowed in Oaklawn Racetrack and Casino because the man was carrying a purse.
Several years ago I lived southwest of Boise, our water system was disallowed because the PPM of heavy metals in the well water was too great, as I recall it was Radium and Uranium...Yummy
Most of the growth in Boise is to the Southwest....Hummmm
Any way....They put in a reverse osmosis system and our water bill quadrupled...add insult to injury the old biddy in charge of billing made the Nazi's look like a girl scout troop...yeah a real joy that one.
Long story short I moved north (well out of the valley) and never looked back...LOL
I looked hard at different options when I moved and what I learned about Idaho is that if you're typical liberal or leftist, I would not recommend Idaho. It's the reddest state in the nation, so you will not fit in at all.
The main city is Boise, a small city which offers nothing interesting for a liberal; not much in terms of entertainment and no pro sports. It's a very dry and landlocked state with very little water. Fires and earthquakes plague much of the state. Summers are quite hot, often exceeding 100 degrees. Winters in Boise can be very cold, and smog produced by invection which traps in pollution. Idaho has been having a lot of abnormal big earthquakes. And Yellowstone is in Idaho's front yard. If that blows, Idaho is toast.
So if you're fleeing California to get away from earthquakes and fires, Idaho is not a good choice.
The rest of the state is barren dry high desert or mountains, so not much is even livable land, and with brutally hot dry summers and quite cold frigid winters. Northern Idaho is brutally cold and snowy in the winters. The few livable areas have been seeing the most growth in the nation with soaring prices. Not a good place for a liberal to move to.
I must have been to a different Idaho than you've been to. Looking at a map, most people live on or very near the Snake River. Much of that area is cold and hot, but the north seems to be like Spokane, Washington, with much of that area similar to the Washington coast.
I came to Idaho after loosing my house in Paradise, CA due to a massive fire. For me, it is better than CA because I am a country kinda guy. Liberals have no place here and tend to be driven off by the locals. BLM/Antifa tried something in Boise a few weeks ago and were out numbered by ******** by at least 30-1. The treasure valley sucks because it is a city but compared to LA it is awesome. Lead is right though, not much for liberals here and that’s the way I like it.
The people I talk to in rural Idaho tend to think Boise, and Missoula, Montana are liberal towns. I was in one county last summer where 4 counties to the north and 3 to the south contain one large town of 3,250 people.
I have always found it interesting that when people consider locations for higher probability of survival........their main consideration is comfortable climate. Not to hot and not to cold......just right.
Well in their defense milder temps make it easier to survive with limited resources.
In our case while not a primary concern, we did consider temps and their duration.
Here at our place in AZ the highs are lower and last for less time than what we were seeing in 29 Palms (where it would be over 100 degrees daily for several months at a time) but the trade off for those cooler summers were a bit worse winters. But the upside to colder winters is that we get more frequent snow to play in. Yet the snow isn't of the 5 months of white variety like say northern MT.
A large swath of Idaho is high desert...more to the point, dry and arid. Inland high deserts in the northern states are well known for their temperature extremes. If mild weather is your thing, then Idaho has mild weather, sort of...three months in the spring and three months in the fall. If you like well defined seasons you're in luck as well.
What have you got against the poor folks who currently live in McCammon Idaho?
