Default Prepping/Survival/outdoor/military surplus shops

Hi all. In my last trips in NH before relocating permanently I was trying to map what the State has to offer in terms of Prepping/Survival/outdoor/military surplus shops but I didn't find a lot... at least in the southern area.... Everything I've found so far is in Massachussets (Army Barracks 3 of them and Cabela's) or in Maine (Cabela's and Kittery trading post) but almost nothing in NH.
Some gun shops but small and in honesty not very impressive at all and nothing in terms of outdoor or military surplus , not to mention something specific for preppers/survivalists....
Any resident can list here such kind of shops in NH ?

I am not from NH. I am afraid that military surplus stores, and stores like that, have been on a national decline for a long time.

When I was in my teens I can remember several army surplus stores within driving distance of my home town...now I can think of 2 within 80 miles, one a hunting store with a few prepper items, the other used to be a real surplus store but now more of a military antiques store.

I believe the high point for surplus/prepper stores hit its climax leading up to Y2K.

My personal opinion is that 2 things have been killing off those kinds of stores; PC culture with its lack of self-sufficientcy, and honestly a lack of high quality military surplus. I believe the wars in iraq and Afghanistan depleted all of the older war stocks that would have been auctioned for surplus.

I find the best items at gun shows and ebay.

Hi Jon thanks for the reply.

Maybe that Amazon has contributed to this decline as well.
