FBI arrests Tucson man over threats to U.S. Rep. Martha McSally
FBI agents arrested Steve Martan, 58, in connection with three messages left on the congressional office voicemail on May 2 and May 10, according to a criminal complaint filed May 12 in U.S. District Court in Tucson. Martan is a campus monitor at Miles Exploratory Learning Center in the Tucson Unified School District. He was placed on home assignment and told not to come into work as the district investigates the allegations.

The voicemails contained threats to McSally, including that she should "be careful" when she returns to Tucson and that her days "were numbered." He threatened to shoot her in one of the expletive-filled messages.

The complaint stated Martan told agents he was venting frustrations with McSally's congressional votes in support of the president of the United States.

Soon after, a call for civility by an ex-Congresswoman, Gabby Gifford (if you recall, she was shot and permanently disabled some years ago at a Tucson political rally, then mercilessly used by anti-2A lobby)...

Gabrielle Giffords: Threats against U.S Rep. Martha McSally 'deeply disturbing':
“No matter where you live or what job you have, you have a right to feel safe in your community, at your workplace, and in your home," Giffords, the co-founder of the gun violence prevention organization Americans for Responsible Solutions, said. "The threats of violence made against Congresswoman McSally are reprehensible and deeply disturbing. Civil discourse and civic engagement are hallmarks of our democracy, but threats and intimidation should never be tolerated.

"It's up to all of us — especially those with the power to strengthen the laws that protect us — to work together and prevent violence from prevailing."

Well, since Gillfords was shot by one of those malcontents, she would know, right?

Although she is from the other side of the aisle, I'm actually quite impressed with Gabby Gifford publicly speaking out against threats and violence against public officials (her husband's and her crusade against 2A, not so much). In this case, Martha McSally, someone I'm guessing has little in common politically with Gifford. Right of free speech being chiselled into our Constitution as it is, civility should be a hallmark of our society. And yet, of late, it isn't.

I believe that the only way this country heals the Great Divide is for moderate and sensible Democrats, like Giffords, to reclaim their party from their corrupt and extremist leadership (yeah, I'm talking about you, HRC, Pelosi & Shumer), and call for civility and an end to all threats and violence to political opponents. Disavow and repudiate fringe groups like BLM & AntiFA and their anti-American speech and behavior.

I'm reminded of The Dog Whisperer Caesar Milan, over many seasons, telling owners (usually women) of crazy, neurotic little yappy dogs that, when the dog misbehaves and you don't positively disagree and quickly cut off anti-social and violent behavior, **your quiet presence (often the misbehavior happens while they're holding or petting the dog) is actually giving the little dog the power to act even more violently**.

AntiFa & like groups are not unlike little yapping dogs. On the whole, they have little power. But, they gather strength from the complicit, quiet majority of left-leaning & moderate Democrats, who, in all likehood abhors violence, but since the reprehensible behavior is directed against those they disagree (Conservatives & the Right), they keep quiet, all the while making apologies for the perps ("Oh, they're just frustrated; just blowing off steam", "Besides, they're not doing any real harm...") to assuage their sensibilities.

They need to "man-up" and put a stop to this. Because they may one day find themselves seen as not enough toeing a more radical line, and be themselves on the receiving end of threats and violence they now overlook.

What is really silly is the idea that the left seems to think the right made all sorts of threats against Obama.

I recall plenty of bad wishes, I don't think many on the right would have been too upset if something bad had happened. He was despised, hated, and reviled as the best example of a US hating worthless politician we have ever had.

But it was pretty rare to hear anyone offer actual violence against the big O.

Giffords isn't a moderate.

There is an interesting phenomenon in this country. Some people have good reason for righteous anger when things are not as they should be, yet those same people often act with restraint, despite having cause to be angry. Conservatives, libertarians, Libertarians, constitutionalists, Christians, the NRA, etc., all act with commendable restraint.

On the other hand, yoh have those who have no reason for their unrighteous anger when things are exactly as they should be. When the rule of law prevails and people enjoy their rights, these people get wacky and violent. Democrats, illiberals, regressives, vagina hats, OWS, BLM, federal employees, the mentally defective, the geberationally dependent, illegal immigrants, felons, etc., all lash out in unrighteous tantrums when they don't get to pervert the rule of law and the underpinnings of the nation. Because they lack restraint, they flail violently, murdering, disfiguring, enslaving, shooting, stabbing, and otherwise violating better people than themselves.

And when we look at this varied landscape, we are tempted to blame "divisiveness" and "how far apart we have become," yet the blame lies squarely with those who seek to pervert the character of the nation and violate our laws, and who can't control their irrational anger, not with those who are reaching the last straw after having suffered devastating financial and lifestyle damage from those kooks.

This isn't "we need to compromise." This is, "If you leftists can't control yourselves, we're going to run out of patience."

As I posted on another site, but it's perfectly fine though to make threats against trump.
