Good video from one of my youtube subs.

He discusses the variety of handhelds preppers have at their disposal...GMRS/FRS/MURS/HAM etc...

It's a work in progress for me. Got my Tech about 18 months ago, and my General shortly after. Just got my GMRS a few days ago actually. Got my eye on the Icom 7200 whenever I get the extra cash, and am looking to pick up some used business radio for gmrs. Got a couple of Chinese ht's, a Ranger 10/12 meter, and several cb's that I've had all put back into good working order. Got a 40 meter dipole that I use with the computer and an SDR dongle. It's coming together, but it sure seems slow lol.

Fist off good on you for getting your tech, general and GMRS....

The 7200 looks like a good rig! Well rounded for the price point! Im actually buying the Icom 7100 because it covers HF (10 thru 160 meters), 6 meters,2m,440 and d-star....I dont want two radios for both here at home.

Red Motor,
Your doing it right and thanks. Learn by experience like your doing. The best way to learn is to do. By all your tinkering you will learn more about radio communication than you can anywhere else. Thanks for the respect you show to the radiosports by getting your licenses and working your way up through the proper channels.

In a SHTF scenario you will be able to get your radio on the air because you have experience. I am an extra but am still learning more everyday.

With best regards,
Jeff in Texas
