What odds are acceptable?

Given that 97% of all people don't have it and most of those that do get it are asymptomatic, when will we know when it's safe to come out?

330,052,960 US population

4,897,207 US known cases or 1.5 %

159,781 US deaths or 3.3% of the cases.

Percent of US population who died from covid-19 ------ 0.0484%

So what numbers would you find acceptable?

Zero new cases? When can you be sure there are no new cases when there are thousands/millions walking around with no symptoms and no reason to be tested?

Zero new deaths? Sweden had zero new deaths. Would you walk around Sweden without a mask? Or is wearing a mask the new normal?

A virus so dangerous, you must be tested to find out if you have it.

It really pains me to see the case count in the US compared to countries I've been where the case count is non existant or incredibly low due to having mandatory indoor mask wearing required.

The proof is in the pudding that wearing a mask indoors keeps the transmission rate lower.

I cannot understand why people wouldn't do this simple little thing. It makes no sense why people are fighting it.

There is no reason for the US to have a quarter of the worlds cases and deaths. My gosh the US has a 1st class medical system and it has worse than 3rd world death count.

You just need to look about how irresponsible America has been at not protecting itself to understand why things are so bad in the US.

The fact there is even a discussion on whether to wear protection or not is mind boggling.

I dunno sort of like the smell of mustard gas, I'lll just roll with it.

You believe you have (and may) an unknown degree of resistance to ONE strain of covid.

Yes. Its never going to stop, even if the virus and the mandates do. Just like the 9/11 changes, they are going to stick with us for generations.

Expect it to be like hat wearing. Some men don't live their house without a hat, some almost never one, but nobody really cares either way because hat wearing or not is a normalized dress choice in our society.

Can you imagine though how bad the outcry would be if the mandate wasn't just for a mask, but for a $200 actually highly effective respirator?

Its the lowest common denominator because that is all you can expect out of people.

I expect mandatory testing come this fall and winter, when everyone tests positive regardless of the type of cold or flu they contract. Lockdown city!

Two doctors discuss masking and "fake news."

There's a lot to learn from this discussion, even though it took place a couple months ago.

SYNOPSIS: Johns Hopkins surgeon and professor of health policy Dr. Marty Makary helps us cut through the haze of talking heads to get an effective, evolving, and compassionate pandemic strategy.

That is the case in most places in the US. That's why I can tell you, covering your face with pantyhose, no matter what sports logo is on it, will work.
Compare the US to Europe...

Yet, every positive patient I see wore a mask.

Turn your mask inside out and see if it protects you instead of other people.

That's on the WA list of notable things said...

Almost every European country is worse off than the US. Don't believe me, go here and check out deaths/million of population. Only the UK has tested more per million than the US. Goes back to the 'ol if you don't test, you won't find...

It's not bad here. Don't know why you think it is. Who tells you it's that bad here?

Almost every European country is worse off? The US is 10th place in deaths per million in the world. Belgium, the UK, Spain, Italy, Sweden, are the only European countries worse off than the US. Current situation, all those places are doing better than the US at the moment which is clearly rising noticeably.

WA shoots out a bunch of statements with no proof or factoids. I skip his posts they are so full of himself. My evidence? Read a few of his posts or look at the poop he puts out there about SB.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!

Just the other day one of the most respected posters here, MikeK, correctly asked WA if EVER gets anything right?!

I do not think I ever put anyone on ignore faster than I put WA on ignore.
