I subscribed because I think your channel has potential, but it might be a good idea to invest in a bit better quality camera with a better microphone and some editing software.

I don't necessarily agree with some of your choices, as I don't feel a shotgun is a must have, and you can fill the high powered hunting rifle/"sniper" niche with a semi auto .308, or even .223/5.56 or 7.62x39 depending on your locale.

Nomad said this once and I completely agree with it, gonna paraphrase it though: "I'd rather hunt with a fighting rifle than fight with a hunting rifle."

I think with that philosophy in mind you can fill that both the "fighting" and "hunting" rifle niche. The user Fragout has provided plenty of outstanding evidence that "fighting" rifles are more than capable of taking large game, as well as several other users. Big bores are fun, but not a requirement.

I also prefer .22 revolvers or pistols like the Ruger Single Six or Browning Buckmark over .22 rifles, as I can put one in a pack with some ammo and carry both a rifle and a sidearm on my person.

I don't think shotguns are useless, just not required. I'm well aware of the uses of a good shotgun with shells tailored to a purpose, but you can also tailor center fire cartridges to a specific purpose as well.

So basically I think shotguns are unnecessary and you can fill the last 4 spots with 3 guns and carry all 3 at the same time should that need arise.

I applaud the effort and there's are terabytes-plus of debates and discussion on this. As always with the political landscape, your top two choices should be a quality, modern self-loading rifle and a semi-auto handgun (and that includes plenty of ammo, and accessories such as magazines). Those two offer the most versatility and will likely be made harder to acquire post-stupid regulations or anti-gun legislation. The rest are always subject to the user and location. Some may value the shotgun higher, or a good bolt gun. Some simply favor a revolver for self-defense. .22LR is always a good staple, but I too prefer it in a pistol format, but can see the value of having a .22LR rifle.

Mission dictates gear. It's not bad to have a bunch but be aware of what you may need the most.

IMHO one should always remember the dope behind the weapon is actually more important than the dope on the weapon. JMHO and S/FI!

Might want to discuss exactly what your linking to, rather than just blind linking. Consider it yourself, if you were running a forum & folks simply popped in and posted links “...here go look at such...”.

That’s considered in poor taste on most forums.

...AND folks without standard internet have no idea what your points are to simply give an opinion.

Guns for Pre-SHTF

Are guns for Pre-SHTF different from SHIF guns and post-SHTF guns?

For sure. I mean you won’t hsve any guns post SHTF you didn’t have before, but you have a different mission pre SHTF.

For example what are the odds of needing to shoot a human long distance pre - SHTF ? Almost zero for a law abiding civilian.

I’d say a hand gun for self defense is more optimal pre SHTF. Post your better have an ar15. .

Well. in my case, being a rural dweller with miles of open space, the odds are 100%. Long rang ability is standard for me and I'm sure for many rural dwellers. IMO... I can't see city dwellers ever needing more than a hand gun, pump 12ga and an M1 carbine. AR-15's are way over the top in the city, considering houses are 20' apart or 150" across the street.

Yea, no.

My furthest shots in Iraq was in urban areas.

Everything's set up linear.

I've done urban training enough to know that accuracy at distance is still critical. Once you incorporate vertical engagements, getting into warehouse districts, and linear roadways, 300-500 meters are very realistic. Just another reason to avoid heavily urbanized areas IMHO. Too many threat vectors despite all the perceived "cover".

`

Pre SHTF you want all "CA" & lib-turd approved guns & ammo. After SHTF you want stuff that will actually be useful. That's as near as I can figure the need for owning different guns before & after SHTF/TEOTWAWKI/WROL.
