Thanks for all the replies. It seems the consensus is that it's too risky to eat box turtles, something I wouldn't do anyway except in a SHTF situation when food is scarce. I suppose the turtle could be taken home and fed veggies for a while until the toxins leave its system but that's probably not a good use of resources.
