Norman has done the same thing, and apparently we have our first case in this county:

City of Tulsa declares emergency. 3 city employees under quarantine: cop, fireman and employee at city water office. Live conference just ended, I don't have a link yet.

Edited to update with link

Starting Wednesday evening, all places in Norman where people gather in large numbers (gyms, theaters, restaurants, clubs, etc) must be closed until April 6th, I think.

Retail locations are not affected.

Yep. Here in Wichita, KS, most places are closing or with limited hours. 8 supposed cases in the state of KS. One case in Wichita area. My MIL says The confirmed case worked where she does, ( Spirit Aircraft). Not sure if true or not, tho.

What did surprise me was that there was plenty of bread left
No veggies, no meat in Texas right now. that's ok, there are Bamboo shoots, dock, Taro, wild yams, and acorns still, and I'm going fishing this evening. Still beer on the shelves. No worries.

Looks like Catfish, mixed wild veg, and MGD on the menu tonight.... OH!.... The PAIN.

It's alarming to see advertisements for some OK businesses right now - 1/2 price massages, 25% off spa services, $7 skating party with free pizza, $20 dental check up, free makeovers at the cosmetics counters...from what I have seen the response to social distancing has been - hold my beer.

Business Closures Under Civil Emergency
From Mayor G.T. Bynum:

Quote:
After speaking with the Tulsa Health Dept. and reviewing their guidelines, under the Civil emergency, I am issuing an order that closes bars effective immediately - beginning at midnight, the order will close gyms, movie theaters, entertainment venues (like bowling alleys, bingo halls) food courts, and restricts restaurants and coffee shops to pickup and delivery with no dine-in options.

This order is effective indefinitely until further guidance from the CDC.
Let me be clear, this order does not include: grocery stores, pharmacies, food pantries, daycares, crisis shelters, soup kitchens, etc

Our area (South of OKC) had their panic moment yesterday. Between the schools being closed and a bad rumor about the local hospital, the stores were an absolute zoo. My husband stopped at the grocery store on the way home to just grab bread and a few fresh items without realizing what was happening. No meat, no bread, etc. Looks like we're going to start pulling from our stash and making stuff from scratch now.

If you are told there are no tests available - now you will know who got them.

I saw that. I wondered if that meant they would be sleeping in their offices...which likely isn't comfortable.

Any way people where going crazy I saw a lady with a shopping cart full of tater chips heaping full , anyway I get 3 bags of dog food and go to check out people were looking at me funny and some one said is that all your getting and I said yea , she said what about the china flu, well my response was got to keep my dogs fat in case I have to eat them. I thought some folks around me where going to pass out or throw up. LOL and S/FI!
