Default Doctor loses custody of 4 yr old daughter

Quote:
An emergency room doctor in Miami, Florida, has temporarily lost custody of her 4-year-old daughter while she treats patients during the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Theresa Greene told CNN's New Day that she was appealing the emergency order that granted her ex-husband full custody of their daughter.
This is something that the two adults should have been able to work out without bringing the court into it. The article says that the two shared custody so the mom should have voluntarily given the daughter to the father for the temporary time the virus is with us. Afterwards she and he could revert back to their prior arrangement whatever that was.

CNN is making this a big deal when it shouldn't be.

Sounds like the dad used this pandemic to his advantage.

Maybe so but they already had joint custody. I expect he had no ulterior motive other than to keep the child from potential harm. The article states that the child stayed with the dad when the mom was at work. I suspect the Dad wanted to prevent the child from going home with mom. The dad also said that the mom could have make up days to even out the timeshare when the virus was over.

Good for him! I hope it can become permanent and she gets to pay support from now on.

The government flexing it's steroid-induced muscles again. Such power must feel invigorating and addictive! I -- the god of the court -- get to decide what's right and wrong for each and every family who is brought before my divine presence. God (real God) -- please clean up this mess!!!!!

My mother lost custody, and she should have.

Even she admitted as much to me. She was always very "sorry" but here I am disabled for life as a result of her choices.

It is hard to say in this case because I don't know the parties, could be Dad is a control freak and is using this, could be Mom is reckless. But I don't think "coming home from a hard day and hugging (the) little girl" is a good call EVER when working in a pandemic. Other parents get that and are adapting.

It takes a pandemic for men to get custody these days.

When I had sex the only man I chose had a vasectomy, because I didn't want children. I still don't and have exactly zero, as I wanted.

Because I was careful in my choices. And I was bipolar and have brain damage, if I can keep it zipped anyone can.

Just sayin'. So many guys like to bash the woman and forget they chose her.

I could be in a similar situation. My ex wife is a nurse. We have shared custody. She isn't taking this seriously. I have suggested that the kids should stay with me until this has blown over.

At the moment the virus isn't really here. 303 negative tests and only 3 positive. 2 of the 3 have recovered and the other is at home getting better. However we just had our disaster of an election(Wisconsin) and Easter. Both brought a lot of people together that should not have been so there is a very good chance that due to that we will see a huge spike in cases in the next week or so.

While men might be a bit more proactive in chasing whom they want, nobody should be under the impression that women aren't doing the choosing too.

Oh, I agree. It takes two to make a baby.

But some of the guys act like the woman drugged them and used one of those things they use on the bulls to get a "sample".

A man has to participate, a woman can get pregnant from a rape or while unconscious. I knew a guy, a friend of my husband's no less, came to our apartment and spent the night on the couch, the next day sitting around talking to my husband tells me he was the ringleader in a gang rape of an unconscious woman they found outside a bar. What a great time and how they ****ed her up... the whole time I am thinking he was sleeping 20 feet away.

I wouldn't allow him in my house after that - the statute had expired so I couldn't report him. But I never trusted him again.

Maybe he got her pregnant, maybe he has a kid he doesn't know about, we don't know. Last I heard he was dying of a heart condition.

Point being a man ALWAYS has to be into it. Not necessarily for a woman.

There have been many documented instances, and continue to be instances in which an unwilling man has been sexually assaulted by a woman or women, by any number of means.

A lot more incidences of women getting raped, in my opinion.

If a man truly doesn't want children he can always get snipped like my husband did. 28 years of marriage and no kids. It works.

If he is mostly sure he can always bank several deposits and then get snipped, that way if he does want kids later they can do IVF. Lance Armstrong had 3 kids that way. But he later recovered his fertility after the cancer treatments and got a girlfriend pregnant after his marriage broke up.

Point being, there are ways to make sure you never have children, if that is what you want.

Also: don't go to bars. Don't get drunk in public. Watch your drink no matter what sex you are. That covers most of it right there.

I never drank in public when I drank (not much) for that very reason, it left me vulnerable. Especially after I heard the story of the gang rape. I have alcohol at home (for me) should I want it and normally I don't. But I might have one beer at home after a hard day. I only went to bars with my husband because he liked them and I only ever had a soda.

While, based on my past experiences, this seems like an "hell yeah" statement, its pretty much off the mark without more information.

Child support and child custody, along with a whole range of related topics can put me on a rant in no time flat. But time, age, and possibly even the tiniest amount of wisdom, have brought a newfound desire for information and reflection before jumping on these bandwagons.

Cops were ****ED!!We got better things to do!

If the complainant had remained in his/her room he/she wouldn't have known that the other was out of his/hers. Petty nonsense!

That is absolutely true, for a variety of reasons.

While only a small overall percentage of women engage in such behaviors, a substantial percentage of those women seem to want to pursue underage males.

While it is true that not all adolescent and prepubescent boys are unwilling, by law, they cannot provide consent until arriving at the statutory age for their geographic location, so long as the party didn't violate the Mann Act, as amended.
