Default Colt Customer Service Buyer beware

Advertise Here

So i purchased one of Colt's MARC series rifles (6.5 Creedmoor) and it doesn't work. Still under warranty but what good is that? They won't take phone calls, They won't take fax's and my emails go unanswered. My LGS called their distributor they got a hold of Colt, Colt said they would call my LGS.
Problem solved right?......It's been Friggon Crickets since then........
This has been on-going for a month. I'll never buy another Colt product again, Wont recommend them and spit on the ground at the very mention of their name.

Anyone else with a Gun Warranty horror story?

Kahr

Brand new PM9 went back to the factory 6x.
Never worked with 8+ different types of ammo, they lied about what they did, kept it FOREVER each time, I had to pay shipping back to them.

Never again.

No, no, no. You are of course incorrect. Colt firearms are NEVER at fault & never have issues, that's why you pay 2-5X what you would over one of those more affordable, or should I say "crap" brands. Clearly you don't know how to operate a quality piece of weaponry & should now be mocked and laughed at by all true firearm aficionados. /sarcasm.

I really, really wanted a LE6920 but couldn't talk myself into spending the money on it, So I spent $ 499 on a Palmetto M4 and spent the difference on ammo.

I own a Colt M4 and have never had any issues with it, but I don’t plan on buying another Colt product right now and I have refrained from recommending them for the foreseeable future. That’s until they become more responsive to the civilian market rather than putting all of their eggs in the government contract basket.

Colt isn’t the only maker charging those prices.

Never said they were. But the OP was talking specifically about Colt.

Not that hard. FN still has to pay Colt for every rifle they sell to the military.

Springfield Armory XD-S 3.3" .45.

bought one new in the box, spare mags, cleaning rod, etc.

Could not get that thing to run, using 6-8 different types of ammunition. Might have been my grip, but my other pistols run just fine with whatever grip I use consistently.
Mag after mag had all sorts of FTFs, etc.

Sent it back twice. Got notes from SA that their armorer couldn't find issues, or "fixed and returned" gun.

Got ****ed off after the second return and traded it for a used Sig P220. Won't ever buy another SA polymer pistol. On the bright side, really love Sigs now!

Colt still owns the TDP. That means FN has to "rent" the spec from them, has to destroy all copies of the spec at the end of the contract, cannot sell any rifles on the civilian market built using the spec (or even built on the same line), and must pay Colt a fee for every rifle sold built according to the spec.

Wise choice. Because...

After that you would have wanted a 6921, a 6940, a 6721, a (this list goes on and on forever)...

Only downside (other than if you have to send something back to get repaired / replaced) is how much you lost when you drove that new PSA off the lot. Seeing as how its 'used' now it just went down in value as compared to a new one just like it that can be had for $499.00 all day long.

Default Minor update

Talked with the manager at my LGS and he is going to call the distributor again and work something out. I told him either change the rifle out or refund the money. We will see.

Colt honors no warranty, they look right past you like your not even there.

What was your problem with the gun?

All you said so far here was that 'it didn't work'.

Why did your local dealer not make things right if it has never worked from the get go? Did you even ask them?

Short stroke, The dealer and i looked at it and could'nt find anything obvious.. It was decided to let Colt fix it. Colts ignoring us so the distributor needs to step up since the gun was a special order. One way or another this will get resolved.

How many rounds through it? BCG cleaned and lubed? Did you peek at the gas port with a bore scope? Fixing it could be easier than dealing with Colt. You shouldn't have to, but a lot of things in this world shouldn't be.

I removed my rail off of my Daniel Defense v5. I wanted to try a mlok one. I lost the barrel but. After a month I wanted the original rail back. The omega X rail was out of production for a few years. I called and they didn’t kept out of production parts. Few days later they called and the warranty department made one. They then sent it free of charge along with a nut wrench to install it. Just saying.
