No but I stayed open under a portion of King Andy's "law" for non essential busninesses, gun stores are nonessential according to kingy. Lots of city people came up here. I still think that place should have been shut down.

By census law, refusal to answer all or part of the census carries a $100 fine. The penalty goes up to $500 for giving false answers. In 1976, Congress eliminated both the possibility of a 60-day prison sentence for noncompliance and a one-year prison term for false answers.

Didn't participate the last time, don't plan on it this time around.

edit: ya thunk the .gov gonna send out the marshal service? Doesn't seem like it's worth coming after me, even the local revenue generators would eat that $100 per question up post haste.

I compiled and gave them the Constitutional required info, plus a bit more. So if they fine me a $100, I'll fight it and if I lose, I'd pay it. What the heck, $100 is a cheap price to hold true to my beliefs which rail against non necessary questions from the Gov. We have clear-cut things we can do.

Remember our rights are ours and every thing in the Constitution is there to limit the government's pressure on us not to limit us. The Constitution is our document and we always need to do whatever we can to keep our rights as strong as possible against their often attempts at over-reach.

census taker showed up about incomplete form.

Another time I filled in about half of it and sent it back and YEP a census taker showed up to fill in the blanks.

So
unless you want an official visit, fill it out and send it in.
And? So if government threatens to show up at your house, they're allowed to do whatever they want?

Also, they send census takers, not Delta Force. They're not going to extract answers upon pain of torture or death. They're just going to try to ask the same questions you already expressed job interest in answering.

No, it doesn't. The Census Bureau is a department of the federal government. That federal government is only permitted to do what is within the power jealously granted to them by the states and the people through the Constitution. As such, they have the authority to enumerate (discern the number of) the people in the several states, fornthe purposes of apportioning Representatives in the House.

Nowhere does the Constitution mention collecting data on race, ethnicity, income, occupation, etc. Any statute that purports to require such, and/or metes out a penalty for withholding such information, never became law.

So they can threaten all they like. In the end, it is an empty threat.

Tossed it on the table. It's next stop is the trash can. I was actually excited about the census since there was supposed to be the citizenship question, but since the Bolsheviks won, as usual, with out that very important question, I have no intention of answering the census. With out that question, shove it, it's just a joke with out the citizenship question. I keep my gate closed and locked. It is a ways down to the gate. If any census taker is stupid enough to try to get around the gate and the big 'Beware of Dogs' and 'No trespassing' signs didn't deter them, things could get interesting.

Talking CAW!

To quote a good buddy of mine, Woods Devil;

" "Your response is required by law"

hahahah

Never responded to the census before and I'm not starting now.

If they want a response from a good ole boy they should word it differently."

You would HAVE money to pay for your own needed 'services'.

I answered the basics but not the phone no. After I realized the DMV sold my phone no. To telemarketing places I either make one up if itís required or leave it blank.

You laugh, but it is your right, under federal law, to self-identify as Hispanic. Self-idenrification is the ONLY criterion.
