Default Private Police: Mercenaries for the American Police State

The growing dilemma we now face as private police officers outnumber public officers (more than two to one), and the corporate elite transforms the face of policing in America into a privatized affair that operates beyond the reach of the Fourth Amendment.

I'm afraid things have gone to far, There is no turning America around now, most people have no idea just how far down the tubes we have gone.
I don't care how strong the next President is, how much he or she loves America, Things have gone to far, to out of control, to big, government, health care, police state. Im afraid were ****ed!

Outnumbered 2to1? That must include those rent a cop guys. But still an interesting point.

I am more concerned with federalization vs privatization of police.

I would be curious to hear where those numbers came from. I have read quite a few articles about smaller cities/towns hiring private security to act as law enforcement (good & bad with that) but nothing overwhelming.

You have no idea how far up the tubes we are when compared to the rest of the world...Private security closes a gap left by undermanned and underfunded police departments...nothing more nothing less. Don't steal anything at Walmart and you won't have to worry about them

The problem is that the socialized single payer police forces that we pay for in taxes are too busy arresting people for victimless crimes. So while they are booking Bob for smoking a joint, Bill and Fred are robbing the little old lady up the street.

More police or security isn't the answer, a reevaluation of what we consider "bad" is. NO victim, NO crime.

In Houston, you can hire a full time on the force police officer to work security for $60K a year. It was discussed at our water board meeting.

Talon, a lot of psychology "experts" are claiming a sexual relationship with a child is "victimless" "as long as the child consents". Anyone who knows about this knows it is easy to manipulate a child into "consent".

I don't have a problem with legalizing pot though. Especially as I work in the snack foods industry!
