How many stoppages? How many cleanings? How many parts broke? Not much info available on that pic, from what I have found.

From the only info I have found, it is allegedly "in one day." If that is a 24 hr day, that is one 20-rd mag a minute. Easily doable by an AR in a controlled environment, with adequate lube, and occasional parts replacement within specified life cycles. Especially if there were any cleanings in there. It's a cool picture though.

In addition to what Disturbed70 said.

That's only 5000rds, but PSA is considered a budget brand. But for the price of 30,000 308, I could've bought 30,000 rounds of 5.56 and a second AR

Recently had a chance to check out a Daniel Defense barrel that had seen well north of 30K rounds. I believe it was around 50K-ish. It finally failed to meet the owner's needs for training, etc. as it failed to deliver anything but a "pattern" at 50y.

until sand, dirt, rain, mud, or extreme cold is introduced, getting a high round count on a controlled range settings impresses me very little.. wars arent fought at a shooting range

Side by side dust test between the m1a and an ar. Pretty interesting.

All rifles experienced failures in the mud. The only one to be easily cleared and gun put back into battery finishing the test is....the ar.

So. I think your thread title is a bit misleading and not indicative to either the m1, or the ar's reliability.

Someone I'm sure is going to complain and say the tests weren't fair or prove nothing and my response to that.....neither is a pic of an m1 sitting on top a pile of brass.

Cheers.

That wasn't a dust test, unless grains that are .25" can be considered dust. Dust tests are conducted with controlled particle size and volume so each gun operates in the same conditions. Nothing can be determined from that video.

Looking at the OP, the only thing determined so far is no one has tried it with their AR yet.

Anyone can google the results they want. From what I've seen around here with people getting dirty diapers over another rifles magazines cost, they must not shoot much. Even a $1,000 rifle is the lowest cost if you're a shooter. It's the ammo that's expensive. Go shoot 100,000 rounds of any centerfire and get back on magazine or rifle prices.

With all the big talkers we got here, should be at least two dozen real shooters here who did that with a few ARs just last year.

Google is a suitable substitute though. I don't expect much more from the Internet.

I know I know.

Those links are about as worthwhile as the op, but hey let's jump on it and play the game.

Getting tired of the ar is junk nonsense some of you are investing so much time arguing.

Have at it dude.
