The Gen4's do not have the cut-out, your saying your Gen3 doesn't either?

ETA: Never mind, you did say 19s, my mistake, sorry.

These might be worth looking at for Gen5 owners who don't care for the cut-out.

Glock should've left this alone.

Thats actually "old news", and was the main reason I hated my gen1/2 19's. Up until the Gen 3's, that cut out was standard on the 19's.

Thought they wised up with the Gen 3's. It was better without the cutout, but the 19's grips are still too cramped for my liking.

Why they would go back to the cut out makes no sense to me, but what do I know, only that I dont like them.

After lots of research, I just got my first Glock. I picked up a Larry Vickers Glock 17 in excellent condition last month. This edition comes with some well thought out mods, and I do have respect for Larry, and what he has done in his career. Love the U shaped rear sight, the rough textured frame. The slide release is way better than factory Glock one.
I also have the Larry Vickers Glock 17 and also a Vickers Glock 19. The Wilson Combat sights sealed the deal for me. Also I really like the extended magazine release and the slide stop. On the Glock 19 the Vickers grip plug made the grip feel better. In fact when I bought my Gen 5 G19 I bought his grip plug for it also.

I was never all that impressed by S&W's M&P offerings. Haven't tried the 2.0 though.

With Glock - you learn to shoot it. Unless you have midget fingers / hands the 17/22/19/23/26/27 grip frame should fit you or as you get more comfortable you mod the grip to fit yourself.
Both the 17 & the 2.0 fit my hand fine; the 2.0 out of the box points better for me. Anyway, I will rarely carry either one, the plan is to have one for the nightstand rather than keeping a 1911/.357 on hand, and for the higher capacity & the ability to mount lights. I should buy both just to cover all bets.

Thank you for your thoughts feedback.

The reason for the return of the cut-out, (according to Glock) is for ease of removal under stress/low light, with the addition of the flared magazine well.

I picked up a 19X a few weeks back and it is a fun gun.

I know many people freak out when they see it because "that 17 grip isn't good for conceal carry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Well I own several great conceal carry guns and so not EVERYTHING has to be a conceal carry purchase.

I bought this because I like Glock and to date I've only owned Gen 3's (plus some Larry Vickers editions that are sort of Gen 3.5) and thought it would be nice to have something without finger grooves but no mag well carve out but still get the claimed better accuracy barrel because it is a fact that my HK Vp9 is just mechanically more accurate than my Gen 3 Glock 17 and 19's and I shoot well enough especially at 25 yards to see the difference.

My initial impressions shooting it are:
Pros
+It handles nicely, the full grip is nice in the hand and the 19 length barrel is no less accurate than a 17 barrel for all practical purposes
+The sights aren't garbage like the normal plastic ones Glock throws on standard pistols
+The 19 round mags ran great, so good that I ordered a few more

Cons (but doesn't mean I'm not still happy with the gun)
-The upper slide is GOLD, yes GOLD! It is not at all or in any way FDE like the lower so I am going to have it Cerakoted black.
-The grip is a little slippery to be honest, I know I said it was a nice size (for a Glock which are all too big for most hands) but the texturing is a bit too understated so I am going to have some stippling done front and back
-The action is a standard Glock action so a little clean up is in order

Overall I recommend it, if you like Glocks and you have all your purpose driven guns bought then this is sort of a neat collector item (though will never be worth anything) given the army competition and its departure from normal Glock offerings.

Yes, you were. Of course, it does have the potential of stopping many 2 and 4 legged threats and perhaps even some motorized ones as well.

I attended the Crossroads of West / Small Arms Review show yesterday in Phoenix. Had the opportunity to fondle a G19X and a G45. I am convinced they are the same gun. Will do some reading later.

Also saw quite a few in designer colors including battle worn grey and that somewhat olive drab green color. Oh, and one with the red and black mottled slide as well.

I've owned several Glocks...19, 20, 21, 29, 34 and a 40. Have shot most of the other models...only have two left...a 19 with an extra 23 slide so it will run 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 SOG and a 40 with an extra .357 SIG barrel.

I use the 40 with the 10mm barrel for a car gun with Underwood Xtreme Penetrator ammo.

Depends what you got it for.

Handgun hunting/woods carry? Nope.

Self defense/home defense? Yes.

Seeing as how you're in New York I don't think it's for handgun hunting or woods carry, so probably.

On the plus side just like the Glock 35s, they might become sort of collectors items.

Picked up my very fist Glock a few weeks back. Its a gen 3 G22 police trade in. Came with night sights that still glow fairly well and shoots really well. Overall I am happy with it and might be carrying it as my daily, still making up my mind on that.

I did however think the grip was to slippery so I decided to stipple it myself.
