Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Under those definitions, the Marlin Model 60 .22LR rifle is an assault weapon.

The Benelli R1 would probably qualify as an assault weapon, too, because it has a detachable magazine and arguably the forestock partially "shrouds" the barrel "allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned."

Of course, it's stupid all of the other regular reasons, too.

I think this was recently renamed to Initiative 43.

"Interfaith religious group" spear heading this with the good ol' Rabbi at the fore-front telling us what rifles are meant to be used for.

Makes you wonder about that pesky divide between 'church and state',right? Libs always want to have it both ways - when it suits them.

Next question: what do we do to stop this?? If passed, it will lead to a Civil War. Innocent homeowners will be killed by SWAT teams when this goes into a confiscation stage!!

Don't know if it'll go that far, but it will most likely end badly.

I don't even know if I want to stop this insanity any longer or if it's just time to brush off the dancing shoes. I know I'm not the only one who has reached this point.

That's the problem with all these bills. They all leave wiggle room for the grabbers to identify almost any gun as being no compliant.
It's bull****, the goal is to ban all guns, and once they ban the rifles the next shooting will be done with pistols.
Those evil guns that can be easily concealed will be billed as a public safety issue too.

Yup. My M&P would qualify under this wording, as would a large part of an antique rifle collection. This was obviously written by people who have ZERO knowledge of firearms. Think I'll go out and pick up an AR -next step - MOVE! And I'm not joking. I've had enough of this sanctuary marxist nonsense and watched this state go downhill for decades.

My bet is that (for once) The Dim Dems will shoot this down asap as they know that the Red Tide still exists in Oregon. They haven't quite neutered the whole state yet, but the fact that this type of horse**** keeps getting proffered up as a streaming wholesome meal only means that at some point the mindless marxist lemmings will succeed in one form or another once they multiply further. Cali transplants and Libbie outsiders are chomping away at Eastern Oregon, West of the Cascades is already toast and done for. I'm actively checking out properties in RED STATE counties in open carry states. I'm done with Oregon. Anything MoonBeam Brown does in Cali, our own Binary Kate gobbles up and follows suit. The Marxist socialism festering here is only going to get worse, unless, of course, by some miracle a Republican can break damn near 40 years of servitude under the idiot Left.

Some of us don't have the option of moving. Anyway, if they can get it to fly here, other states will follow. Lifetime NRA member. Just joined Oath Keepers, GOA, Oregon Firearms Federation, and 2ndA Foundation. Will make further donations to whomever looks like they have an answer to this Anti-American treachery.

Only a fool wants to give up their Civil Rights, that they may very well need in the future!!

I think you're absolutely right. Idaho is already infested with do-gooder Libbies. The state I'm looking at probably has a fair shot at not turning strong purple for another 5-10 years. Then you have to look county by county. I've also got my eye on some property very deep South. The Pacific Northwest is a goner. Libbies need everything 'just so'. Best bet is to find the starkest most difficult area to live in (no Starbucks or Whole Foods); has to be a drawback in either scenery or amenities. Possibly going deep into Dixie is enough of a deterrent if you get out into the boonies sufficiently. My rule of thumb is no Libbie political signage or lefty accouterments spotted for 2 hours of driving either direction. Works for me.

Thanks for the list. I renewed 3 years for NRA and want to get active locally, I'll check out the OFF. It's too bad we can't make Red only states in the context of entrance to reside, as the Blue has been gobbling up OUR OREGON and giving us ZERO voice for decades. I'm tired of these leftist turd lifers in office who do nothing for constituents unless they've got a D ready to vote for them!
