I ask for prayers for my father. He is in critical condition, 100% dependent on his pace maker and there is just a slim chance of survival over the next 24 to 48 hours.

I also ask for prayers for my mother, that God lends her His strength to endure whatever comes.

Thanks.

Thank you all.

God bless all of you, you've all been so helpful over the years, "someone" I could "talk" to when there wasn't anyone else. I've appreciated all the kind and helpful words, and even some of the unhelpful. I hope everyone here will know I've said many prayers over the years for them and their needs, and I've appreciated beyond my ability to express how you all have prayed for me and my needs.

It's meant more to me to have this community of friends than y'all realize.

God bless you all.

Yes, this is edited and I removed my post. It's 3 hours later than originally posted. No, it wasn't due to the names, because everyone who knows me is or will be aware of his death soon. And those who know me likely already know much of my family's history and names because it's always been so close to my heart that I talk about them often. My family, like many others, has a convoluted but fascinating history and I often speak about them. In fact, one of the first thoughts I had this morning after my brother called me to tell me dad had passed was this--- Now, right now, he's with his family, his parents and grandparents who he loved so much. I sat and marveled at the thought, that I just spoke to him yesterday, and mom was talking about him last night--I talked to her until almost 11 pm last night about him-- that he's either in the presence of the Lord or very soon will be at the resurrection and is just peacefully asleep, awaiting. And a thought came to me, that an angel of the Lord came to him and perhaps said something like 'Get up, come with me' and dad went. Or maybe his mother or father, or maybe his grandfather whom he loved dearly. But I know in my heart he didn't go alone. God knew his fears, and I know did not let him make that journey alone.

The post has been sufficiently read, and so I removed the content, and as the Lord has heard all your prayers. El shaddai, it is sufficient. Thank you all again for your kindness over the years.

Strange how all the things fall away at times like this. The anger and hurt he caused me during my life, the things left unsaid, the explanations never given, the things left undone, the dreams that died with him. It's all fallen away. Not in days or weeks, but instantly, in a fraction of a second, they no longer matter. Like the worn out body he left behind, it's all fallen away.

I just recently gave him a St. Michael's medal, a sterling silver one. When I bought it, I felt it was 'for the coming battle'. Thank you Lord, for the gift of my father's life.

Thanks for your touching post. A bit heartbreaking. I know the pain of losing close family members including both parents. My condolences.

Please pray for Julia, my mother, as she is in need.

It's a terrible feeling that there is nothing I can say, nothing I can do, that is of real help to her. I can be there, I can call her, I can listen, but ultimately, this is a walk she must endure on her own. I understand--you can be in a room full of people who love you, but you are still utterly alone, and no one can help you. You must go through it alone. Except for God.

God walks with us as Christ, and Christ sits beside us in our blackest hour. I've endured that walk, and He was right there with me every step.

Please pray that my mother can feel His presence today, tonight, tomorrow and in the days to come. She is holding up well, but we all know how that never lasts more than a few days before crashing down.

Please, pray for Julia. I've told her people she doesn't know are praying for her today and yesterday and she was quite touched. Thank you for your prayers, they help more than you all know.

Most definitely, prayers for Miss Julia. May she have some peace through all of this.

I am asking for prayers for my mother again. She is getting through with the 'business' of tying up my father's loose ends, final expenses, banking, etc. and it seems she has been pretty much busy since dad passed away and now---most of it is done. And she is lost again.

She was busy taking care of things, and now the things have largely been taken care of except for the memorial service, which is still pending. The finality of his passing is really setting in. I mean, she knows he's gone, but..... it's sinking in now, the full understanding of it. Now that there is silence and stillness.....

Please continue to pray for Julia.
