Florida rejects a proposed constitutional amendment to ban rifles holding more than 10 rounds. Guess we Floridians are safe for another election cycle.

Unfortunately, it is just a matter of time. If we do not proactively pursue and achieve Constitutional carry, we will eventually lose the "right" to keep and bear arms. The only real solution is secession of conservatives from liberals. We need to split the country and let the liberals self destruct. Who is John Galt.

I will not comply with any bans. Make me a felon when I have not harmed a person, and I will make the bad actors regret it, permanently.

It is nice that the O/P linked to the actual decision by the Florida Supreme Court
It blocked the proposed Citizens' Initiative on the grounds that it was "misleading"
Had it been properly written, then it would not have been blocked
So the ruling is not in any way related to some lofty notions based on the Second Amendment, the Florida Constitution, or God-given Natural Law or Rights

So Jdog67 rightly says:

"Guess we Floridians are safe for another election cycle."

They will be back and it will be intesesting to see how the initive fares whe it is resubmitted to the voters. The voters will get to decide. The three day hand-gun waiting period for non-CCW license holders that currently exists is a bad sign as is the inexorable demographic shift into ****-hole status

Hopefully some of the new gun owners will flip and finally see the need for high capacity mags and so called "assault weapons". The gun stores have been packed for months. And just when the rush started to die down... boom.. protests, riots, curfews. Some are starting to see the light. Just the other day I helped two complete strangers get familiar with their brand new AR's at the range. Looked like they had a great time and won't want to give those rifles up anytime soon. This is what we need right now, to turn new owners into enthusiasts or even preppers. Then maybe we can hold on a bit longer.

Article mentioned he made a weak attempt at that,so he probabley knows the laws about on the way/from fishing.Cops asked to see his liscense and gear.He changed his story to say he was thinking about going fishing later.Odd thing is that it wasn't even his gun.Don't know if the police kept it,think so.

I’m glad our SC busted this down, but we are almost guaranteed to see our gun laws in Florida get worse, and possibly soon.

Republicans run the Florida House and the Senate, but they are rarely friendly to guns. 100% of the pro-gun bills in the Senate get killed in the judiciary committee because of Anitere Flores and Rene Garcia. They’re Republicans from the Hialeah/Miami area and they hate guns. So instead of having a majority in the committee, we are down by at least two votes on every pro-gun bill. On top of that, the Senate President is another anti-gun Republitard, so he isn’t willing to pull the bills to the floor for a vote.

I had been preaching hard on numerous websites and blogs, was brought onto a few local radio shows and even got on and talked to Laura Ingram about it once, talked to Matt Gaetz about it in person, did all that stuff for about 6 years trying to get attention for the problems in Tallahassee with our gun laws, but I quit about a year ago. It makes zero difference. The Panhandle is about as lukewarm as it gets.

Trying to talk to Republicans in Florida about things like open carry or constitutional carry is a waste of time.

I’m open to ideas, but I have little faith.

Itís an unconstitutional law. The cops should have let him slide. Good cops will not enforce bad laws.

You can open carry when fishing, hunting, or on the way to or from either. I have never been given any hassle for doing that or at least making it look like I was.
