PSA uppers are much higher than before and their AK pistols have also create up in prices. In addition, they now charge sale taxes, which arenít charged by several online vendors I frequent for ammo.

PSA and state sales tax has been discussed in another thread. States are now coming to the on-line vendors to collect the taxes on their behalf rather than going after the end consumer. The other on-line vendors will eventually get that *call*.

PSA like everyone else has to pay the sales taxes to the states that want it collected from online stores, if a site isn't they're either eating the costs or will be in big trouble when caught. The first order I got taxed from PSA was January of '19 after the S.D. case passed SCOTUS. I had placed an order in Dec. of '18 that wasn't taxed.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme...ales-tax-case/

As far as their prices it's simply supply & demand as well as inflation. Right now demand is high & like most places they're having trouble with getting supplies. Then everyone got a stimulus check & lots of people who didn't need it for anything else (maybe even some who did) are using it to buy fun stuff, which only makes it harder to keep in stock. Once things calm down & there's a slow down, their prices will go back down too, at least until the next panic. That's why it's best to take advantage of low prices when the supply is high & demand is low.

If you've been into guns for more than a day you should of seen this coming. (Prices were already up, I'm assuming they have gone/are going up more.)

Thats why I bought 22 uppers in Feb.

No vendor is charging tax because they choose to. It's a pain in the ass for them to collect it, and do the returns required by the different states.

When the various states that are aggressively pursuing vendors, get around to any that aren't currently collecting tax they will wish they had, when they end up paying the tax and penalties themselves.

This is exactly why I bought a 6.5 cm upper from them. I got it for just over $500 no shipping cost. I knew prices would jump and probably not come down for a while. Maybe a few years. I am fairly set on uppers and lowers for the foreseeable future. Until I find another one that tickles my fancy.

I do not pay tax as of

Order Date: March 23, 2020
Product Name SKU Price Qty Subtotal
Shipping & Handling $17.00
Grand Total (Excl.Tax) $566.99
Tax $0.00
Grand Total (Incl.Tax) $566.99
Sig Sauer P365 TACPAC 9mm Pistol, Night Sights - 365-9-BXR3-TACPAC

As far as prices, I posted over and over a few months ago, pre-covid, that prices were at the lowest point possibly for ever and to "buy as much as you can now"

Not all states are aggressively pursuing out of state vendors for sales tax, or they haven't gotten around to it yet. With the shortfall in tax collections all the states are facing, I would expect that to change.

PSA and a lot of the others raised prices back in March, that and sold a lot of their stock during this last run on stuff

We mentioned it in here in many different threads

You better hope Trump gets reelected that way prices may go down again here in a year or 2

The window for "cheap and plenty" got shut just as soon as the toilet paper disappeared

Me and several others in here have been warning people to be getting things while the getting was good

Take a look at this website. I can't vouch for their quality but their prices and customer reviews are good.

BCA has a lot of quality control issues. I have purchased a handful of uppers and rifles from them and have had trouble with about 40% lately. I had a customer that got a 6.5 Gr. Sent it back and basically had the "guts" replaced. They do not respond consistently and that is a deal breaker for me. In time, they may be ok but for now I am avoiding them and advising customers to do the same.

Prices go up because people are panic buying guns and ammo. Don't pay the high prices and they will come down in time. I mean 2 or 3 months ago you could build an AR15 for $350ish. Now they are $450ish. AK's going for $800+. Just not a good time to buy right now. I would only buy if I didn't have anything and needed it right now.

After this pandemic clears prices will fall again. unless we get a democrat in office.

Agree, as stated above
This is nothing compared to Biden's confiscation of anything really useful for self protection

After that we will be using levers, pumps, and revolvers or ultimately no right of self-defense even with a baseball bat. That is the road to ruin.

I really like my BCA stuff. The 9mm conversion barrel for my Glock I got from them is way more accurate than the factory barrel. I've only built 1 rifle with the 3 barrels I got from them (1 was free) it's a 223Wylde socom profile & I've only shot it out to 100yards so far but have been quite happy. I Just wish now they'd start making some CHF & CL barrels too.

The Supreme Court ruled back in June 2018 that states have the authority to require businesses to collect online sales tax on purchases. If you don't like it, then address it with your own state's legislature.

I haven't seen much increase. There is always the incremental increases, inflation and such. Most firearm manufacturers seem to cut back sales and discounts as summer approaches. This is just the ebb and flow of the firearms market. The sales tax thing is old news. If PSA is to salty for you, shop elsewhere. Good luck...….
