Just one of many reasons I would never live down there.

In this case it's like LA but with a perpetual heat wave.

I'm in PHX for a few days supporting a massive increase in volume in the PHX DC. It's hot. Glad I'm on vacation starting Weds.

Well... my plans to check my US BOL and cache have been more than a little disrupted due to some Chinkyvirus bugthingie...

After being busy as heck for months, the work started easing just as long-distance flights to my usual AO went from 15+ a day to <2 a week... so when the bosses suggested I get home while I still could, I did not argue or hesitate. Not the most straightforward of multisector trips I've ever done, then 2 weeks quarantine at the end of it,... but back home.

Can't easily see long-distance leisure or for that matter work travel starting up again soon, leisure travel maybe not for 2+ years. Would like to be wrong. Anyway I have no short-term food in storage and everything else should last, until I get back in a few years or my kids inherit it - by which time Concho Valley may have become the new Aspen haha...

SURPRISE!!!!!!

Gov. Douchey extends the stay at home order until May 15th. Now who didn't see that coming? C'mon now, admit it. Go here if you want to see the breakdown by Zip Code. Note that the various reservations are suppressed.

Another mini-report from up on the mountain. I found today that the Subway in Taylor will NOT allow you in without a mask. I do not see that as a policy on the Subway website. Guess the franchisee here isn't educated enough to realize that even the N95 masks do not keep the germs in. She is a blond, lol.

On my way home for over a week or so now, the drive through line at the colonel cluck in Show Low has been so full, it is a traffic hazard.

I did go into Walmart briefly on Monday. I was only there to get some bread, soda, and beer. No problems, but a quick glance down the canned food aisle showed the canned meats empty and of course, the toilet paper aisle was wiped.

I am oh so not surprised. Not exactly a well thought out plan, was it? Regardless, I am seeing a heck of a lot of people who say they're going to open orders or no orders. Not even the guv's lame threats to fine people aren't going to stop them I'll bet. I did see that opinion issued from the AG today on church services so there appears to be at least one adult in the room over there.......

Life as usual here. Essential employee, so at work Monday-Friday. Wife is off for the rest of the school year with pay, so she has been able to get a lot done around the house (just catching up on some projects she has). Other than that, just another day/week/whatever.

Traffic has not really dropped off down here - maybe a 20% drop, but hardly noticeable.

A month ago the arrowhead area was really light around noon time. Last week, traffic was noticably heavier than that but less than normal so I'd say you're spot on. I was out at 0630 and "rush hour" ain't all that. Last time I took I10 west at that time it was obvious its way down but that won't last much longer. I'm thinking in the next weeks when people figure out its ok, going back to work & such, our good deal traffic...won't be LOL.

Update on the extension of Il Douche's order; it's all about federal dollars. Had the Douche rescinded the order, millions in federal aide would have been lost; from FEMA, HHS, etc. That's why he's going through the 15th.

Don't believe me? Write to Karen Fann. An email she wrote to those considering overturning the order was very blunt. Il Douche' isn't about to let all those federal dollars go away.

Taylor Walmart, May 6, 2020:

Masks required to enter.

So add Walmart to the list with Subway of establishments I will probably not be shopping at for the foreseeable future.

Well last week gas here in the Valley finally dropped below $2 ($1.99) at my favorite place which is a Fry's gas station near my house.

This week it is $1.97 - with my Fry's card discount I was able to get it for $1.87 last night.

As far as Walmart or any other store requiring face masks to enter - it is how things for the moment. Not a big deal in my book.

What I find funny is people driving by that are wearing masks and gloves inside their closed up car.

Am still in the valley. Walmarts down here, at least the ones I go into, recommend but do not mandate masks. I will not wear one in Walmart. I do like the idea of the people work work in the fast food joints wearing them, especially the ones preparing the orders. That should be mandatory regardless.

Maverick Snowflake $1.92
Circle K Taylor $1.95
Speedway Taylor $1.95

Still $2.05 + in Show Low/Lakeside-Pinetop. Went into Bashas in Taylor briefly for some soda, hot dogs, and beer; dang, forgot apple juice! No problems, forgot to check paper aisle.

Fast food places in Taylor/Snowflake still take out and drive through only as was Trapper's cafe, but looks like they opened for sit down yesterday. Going to try it today. Even El Cupido's was take out only.

I've got a new name for this 'thing'. The controlyavirus.

No costco membership, so I will continue with my current location.

HAHAHA !!! Good one Teddy!
We're lucky apparently, here in our State. Some people got tickets for trying to open their restaurants, Tempe cops actually seemed to do ok yesterday and that's no mean feat knowing "those people" lol. Nobody's wearing an ankle monitor, and if we had beaches, we could sit or lie on'em....unlike LA County
