Default Klamath Falls Oregon Help

Advertise Here

I am looking to move in the near future and was wondering if there were some people that could help me with some information on the area.

I am currently doing some research on the area and would love to talk to some people in or familiar with the area.

I plan on taking a road trip there soon and any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time

I live north of Klamath Falls near La Pine. I can't tell you much about K Falls itself but can give you some ideas about the area.

It is high desert...dry, dry, dry. It also makes it a bit harder to grow things here because of the mostly volcanic soil (you must supplement nutrients) and because of the temperature swings (it was 45 degrees when I got up, it supposed to be 96 later today). We will also have freezing temperatures over night well into June and they can start up again in September, so greenhouse or Walipini growing is a must.

There are tons of recreation opportunities here...hunting, fishing, dirt bike / quad riding, camping, hiking, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, etc are right out your back door.

Winter's are snowy and cold (it started snowing here in November and we didn't see dirt again until March). Summers can get warm (K Falls is even warmer than us) but it is not too long and cools off very nicely in the evening.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. I honestly haven't been to K Falls since I worked at Crater Lake in the early 90's but can answer general questions about the area.
