Default California: paradise to leftist hellhole in 50 years

Advertise Here

In 1970, California was much like any other prosperous state with arguably the highest standard of living per capita in the Union. Added to that, it’s scenery was often magnificent, it’s abundant resources filled the state’s coffers to bursting and employment was abundant.

50 years later, it’s scenery is still magnificent and it’s abundance of resources are plentiful but the idealism of the detached coastals have walled off access to the resources, dried up large portions of the tax base, over-regulated and over-taxed business, created an urban scale resembling the sprawling tent cities and sanitation squalor of a third world refugee camp, complete with hordes of unrecorded, unvaccinated third world people, essentially re-creating the third world hellholes they ran to here from.

California has this become a beautiful state with third world hellhole cities, a brush choked forest system the burns uncontrollably every year yet is never thinned out by logging, yet politically controlled by its naive idealistic coastals far away, now adding brownouts like any other hellhole. 5 decades to convert a state 180 degrees via socialism masquerading as progressivism. 0 successes / 100% failures. Let’s do it to the whole country!

Not just California either RBG. That mentality is rapidly spreading north to two other formerly beautiful, wealthy states.

Overcrowding DOES that. The roads and buildings get old and need repair, and California has apparently been too cheap to do that. Look at the current power shut-downs. IF they had maintained the PG&E infrastructure and kept the trees snd brush trimmed back then this wind would not be a problem. This wind is not as severe as what I grew up with when I was growing up in California, but we were safe with high winds and now they are CLAIMING that the winds are dangerous

I do not believe that, by the way. They knew a year ago that maintenance needed to be done but they did not do it.

Cities need to be kept up and kept in repair. For whatever reason, California decided to not do it. Therefore there are perhaps a million people without power. And that is a direct result of negligence.

Negligence is not something that is restricted to the Liberals, though some of the projects that they have been spending on is. They needed to supply city maintenance first, and they did not.

As a resident of the once great state of CA I can say this is accurate. I was born here and know just how great it used to be. I thought I would live my entire life here but now I cant wait to get out. To go to a state that let's you live free again. A state that doesnt steal your hard earned money to waste on hairball schemes thought up by politicians who have clearly become cult leaders. A state that once again resembles the United States.

They do have the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm glad I got to walk around San Francisco before all the human waste showed up.

I was never a fan of LA. Urban sprawl at it's worst.

We've had so much rain here this year, I have no desire to visit Seattle or Portland. The local weather station near our house has us at ~38" of rain this year. It feels like half of that came this morning.

TRyan, first we put out resumes and got work outside of California, and then we moved to be near the work. Because with a job many things become possible.

An exert from the quoted article shows the biggest problem in a nutshell:

.................................................. ...........
"Recently, Gavin Newsom, the Democrat governor, transferred millions of dollars that the voters had been ensured would go to improve the state's failing road infrastructure to a fund designed to convince Californians to give up their cars."
.................................................. ...........................

If you do not maintain your city (or your car or your home) then soon it will be a wreck. That is simply how things are

My 94 year old Father is too old to move. I seriously hope that after he passes that the rest of my family will leave. Half of us have left already but I have a big family and several are still in California

I moved to Southern California in 1983, with no debts, and a shiney new engineering degree.
I worked there my entire career.
But as soon as I reached the minimum retirement age, I punched out, sold out and bugged out.

I honestly wish every other decent person would leave, so God can finnish the place off.
He has been giving you all the hint lately, dont make him give you another.

With the exception of Hawaii and Vietnam, I have lived in California my entire life, and can't move for another couple years due to business interests that require my attention.

Most of the horror stories you read about are true, but apply mainly to the two craphole cities (LA and San Franfagco)… the rest of the state is mostly red (conservative), for now.

I miss the good ol' days when Reagan was our Governor... that was before we had the following progressive accomplishments
  • The highest poverty rate
  • The highest income tax
  • The highest sales tax
  • The highest property tax
  • The highest gas prices
  • The highest homeless population
  • The most illegal aliens
  • The most people on welfare
  • The highest housing costs
  • The worse roads
  • A failing electrical grid (caused $100 billion in fire damage)
  • Middle class fleeing state in droves
  • Poop and needles in the streets
  • Unconstitutional Gun Laws (toughest in nation)
  • Free medical for illegals
  • Free education for illegals
  • Sanctuary state (harboring millions of lawbreakers)

But California has a solution that will save the day.

Free medical and free education for illegals so they can attract more future Democrats. What a brilliant plan! Go for it, pinkos!

And now what's happening is these Blue State insects are fleeing California (and similar states) and moving to the Red States.

Like rats leaving a sinking ship. Or fleas jumping off the dead carcass of their previous host. And moving to greener pastures.

I live in Nebraska. And our 2.5% unemployment rate, low cost of living, and rural areas are proving to be a mecca for these blue insects.

See my previous thread on this subject: "Turning Red States Blue by using Economic Migration"

California has traveled the wrong road for much to long to ever come back. I think eventually, Los Angeles will be Líll Detroit. I feel for the good people there in So Cal who are being dragged to hell by the libs.

The good thing is once your bullet train is finished, nobody will care that it basically goes from homeless camp to homeless camp. That's what the new train terminals will be right?

I read an article that said more people would get behind the train if it was powered 100% by renewables.

I often wonder why the Libs in CA, reading those statistics and facts, still haven't come to the conclusion that something is fundamentally wrong.

Instead--they seem to double-down. And call for more socialism. More leftist policies. Even more of the same stuff that is wrecking everything around them.

Heck--even the Russians at the end of the Soviet Union realized that Communism was dragging the country down.

LOL the $98 billion "Bullet Train To Nowhere" scheduled to be completed in 2033 has lost its funding... another progressive accomplishment.

California has been having rolling blackouts for years. Instead of beefing up the power system they decided to live with it. And, no, most of the state is not conservative
