President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he planned to use U.S. military forces to protect the nation's southern border with Mexico until there is a border wall and "proper security."

"We are going to be doing things militarily," Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that he had discussed the idea with U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis. (Reporting by Steve Holland and Lisa Lambert; Writing by Susan Heavey; Editing by Tim Ahmann)

This is one of the purposes of the Militia, to protect our country from invasion. First line of defense should be the military. Second line should be National Guard. Third line should be the Militia. That entire invasion force should be repelled to the very last invader. In this case, I believe that deadly force is warranted. I am sure that the invaders believe that they can force their way in by sheer numbers, and that we won't shoot. They might reevaluate their situation if faced with climbing over a mound of hundreds of bodies.

The Israelis do know a thing or two about border security because every day is 9-11 over there.

What blows my mind is that many seem to completely ignore the fact that virtually every civilized country in the world simply deports immediately without question in best case scenario or puts people in jail in worse case scenario....except the good 'ol USA. Being caught in Mexico without approval is an instant felony with up to 5 years in prison for first offense.

Trump says the military will secure the southern border until wall can be built

Good!
Let the nasty girls set up a full border overwatch. Ensure the true border is clearly marked (range stakes would work). Anyone attempting to breech the border becomes the target of opportunity. Training benefit would be outstanding.
Mortar/Arty folks can practice their lift and shift.
FISTers and JFOs can hone their skills.
Infantry/Scouts can work on their long range engagement and area denial efforts.
Even mortuary affairs can get some practice scraping up the leftover goo and packaging it for shipping to the nation of origin.

I used to be on the "send em home!" bandwagon. I realize I was wrong.
There is absolutely ZERO reason that these invaders should ever be allowed on our side of the border. If their home nation is so bad, I understand. If Mexico is willing to allow them to wander through, fine. Let them filter into the Mexican countryside and enjoy a new nation and whatever opportunities it may offer.
Just make that new nation NOT be the USofA!!!

Maybe, Mexico isn't being completely truthful...
"Trust, but verify!" Send the troops anyway, Mr. President!!

EXCLUSIVE: 'We'll see you soon Mr President!' Immigrants on the sprawling human caravan taunt Trump
Defiant Central American migrants from the sprawling human 'caravan' snaking north through Mexico taunted President Trump and vowed to continue their push towards the US - declaring: 'We'll see you soon Mr President.'

And they told DailyMail.com about the reality of what Trump called 'the strong immigration laws of Mexico' revealing that in fact they were being given 20 or even 30-day passes to travel freely and told to report to immigration centers, which dot the U.S. border.

Far from being 'broken up' as Trump claimed on Thursday morning, the caravan was being helped on its way to Mexico City with coaches which arrived not long after he tweeted.

And while Mexican officials had encouraged it to disperse, they did so by giving permits to stay in the country without asking a single question about gangs and crimes.

Arrest, detain, hold hearing, "are you in the country legally?", "No?", deport. Next?

Arizona, Texas Send 400 Troops to Border After Trump's Call
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said about 150 Guard members would deploy next week. And the Texas National Guard said it was already sending Guardsmen to the border, with plans to place 250 troops there in the next 72 hours as an "initial surge," according to a Guard spokesman. Two helicopters lifted off Friday night from Austin, the state capital, to head south.

The total so far remains well short of the 2,000 to 4,000 National Guard members that Trump told reporters he wants to send. New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez's office said Friday that it had not yet deployed any Guard members. The office of California Gov. Jerry Brown did not respond to questions about whether it would deploy troops.

Trump signs memo ordering end to 'catch and release' practices
President Trump signed a memorandum on Friday ordering agencies to "expeditiously end" the practice known as "catch and release" that allows immigrants caught in the U.S. without proper documents to be released from detention while their cases play out in court.

The memo signed by Trump orders the Department of Homeland Security, in coordination with other agencies, to submit a report to the president within 45 days "detailing all measures that their respective departments have pursued or are pursuing to expeditiously end 'catch and release' practices."

So what else is new? An army of Illegals has been crossing our border for the last hundred years and we have not taken aggressive steps to stop them. Yet we have protected other borders in other countries like East/West Germany. What have we been thinking.

Of course the Left loves it because this will create more Democrats. Our welfare rolls will swell and out Medical Care for the indigent will escalate. The Public Schools will also take a big hit for many reasons.

Its simply amazing to me, how much impact and cost savings have occurred by the President's use of Twitter. No press releases, diplomatic cables, ambassador meetings, press interviews, etc.

The President simply types a couple of lines and hits send. No filter, no ambiguity and "poof", everyone knows where the president stands and what he wants.

Seems to have worked on Mexico, China and North Korea, so far.

Even more enjoyable, when you think about all the diplomats, intelligence people now tasked with monitoring, interpreting and analyzing the Twitter feeds of this president and other world leaders. Maybe George Town School of Government will start offer classes on "Twitter Diplomacy".

The traditional print, TV and Cable Media still don't understand that they represent the "Buggy Whip" industry in the early days of the automobile. Radio and Pod Casts continue to be valid, because you can't always read or watch stuff while driving, working, running, etc.

Trump resumes attack on California Gov. Jerry Brown over Mexican border patrols
<snip>Trump toured the Key West facility after threatening to withhold federal funds for a National Guard deployment in California. The president was angered that Brown said the troops would not enforce federal immigration law or participate in the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Instead, Brown said he would send 400 National Guard troops to focus on human trafficking as well as drug and gun crimes.
<snips>
In a tweet prior to his Key West visit, Trump said Brown is committing the National Guard to "do nothing," and "the Federal Government will not be paying for Governor Brown’s charade."

He added: "We need border security and action, not words!"

Brown had responded grudgingly to Trump's request to deploy the National Guard on the Mexican border. He told reporters this week that the emphasis should be on public safety.

We should build the wall to be like the one that surrounded New York City in "Escape From New York" 40 feet tall with manned armed towers every 1000 feet. And the admonishment just like the opening scene! "You have 10 seconds to turn around, 9, 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1!" BAM! All gone!

Twin 50's and Claymores! Aremed gunships flying parallel to the border to burn the stragglers that get through..

Hungary has a similar set up (with a smaller wall) and it is working wonderfully!!
