I tried both steel cased and brass through my XD9 sub and it ate both fine.
Pickup a few different kinds and try them out.
Its a blast to shoot!!

I second the vote for Golden Saber. Mine eats anything I put in it though.

Not interested with the low mag capacity it has. 5+1 if I remember correctly.
I have a 1911 that can shoot 8+1, good enough for me for a .45 to shoot. I already have smaller pistols that can conceal well, so the new offering doesn't appeal to me.

I bought an XD9 Subcompact used in December. I took it to the range that day and fell in love with it. I love the grip angle as point shooting seems more intuitive to me than with a Glock or Taurus. Last weekend, I had a Living Social deal that included a rental at my local range, so I tried an XD 45. Again, I absolutely loved it and bought one locally on Wednesday.

Hey guys, I just bought my XDM 3.8" compact 9mm 2 weeks ago. havent even shot it yet. The stock holster has already scratched the front end of the weapon, any suggestions for other holsters that won;t scratch up my pistol?

I had a terrible time finding a holster that I liked. I ended up making my own.

I have an XDm 45 w/3.8" barrel. I got this gun a while back and I have yet to find a decent shoulder holster that I like. On the first page of this thread there is a pic of one that the owner made. It has one strap that goes over the opposite shoulder. This looks to be about whay I want, but I cant find anyone that sells them. If anyone knows of some place that does, I would appreciate a link.

We only have three gunshops around here and none of them are what I would call big. They each have the usual cheap nylon holsters to choose from and that is about it. This area is more into big game rifles than pistols and most folks have the standard 1911 in their arsenal. There just does'nt seem to be a big market for handguns and the stuff that goes with them.

I could really use some insight here on what others like in a holster for this particular handgun. Eventhough it is a compact, it is still pretty beefy. This is especially true when I have the extended 13+1mag in it. I'm not a real big guy so I think the shoulder carry would be the best way for me. As of now I just use the belt holster that it came with.

I absolutely love how this gun handles and shoots. It is probably one of my favorites out of all the different firearms that I either have now or owned in the past.

One more thing, does anyone have a line on where I can get a good set of sights? I have been thinking on getting some Trijicon nitesights. Any thoughts on this or does someone have a better idea?

They say out of the box this gun has a trigger pull of 5 1/2 - 7 1/2 lbs. I have'nt had this one checked yet. I do know though that it's a little stout and I've been thinking about a trigger job as well. For those that have had trigger work done, what did you have yours set at?

Thanks guys.

Tex

I plan on picking one up as soon as the wife is looking the other way. I have the .45acp in the xd service model so a cc .45 would make money sense when it comes to ammunition costs.

hey everyone, Ive had a lot of shoot time with my .45 xdm 4.5 and this past weekend i tried running some 250 grain hollow points through it and every single time i got a horrible jam. the chamber would close, the bullet would get jammed, and the bolt wouldn't come forward far enough to fire. just some fyi. but the 230 hollow points runs like a champ, put some huge holes in the tailgate i use to shoot up. ha ha ha. tore a hole through the diamond plate wrapped around the top of the tailgate at 25-30 yards, quite impressive, the copper coat peels back and the lead just burrows through to the other side.

I think you are refering to the tanker holster that I made for mine:

I can make more

Let me know if you are interested.
