Well that's it then.
The poll tax returns heralds "The Independent".
Linky to Poll Tax Article

A few preppers have been getting twitchy about what is going to happen and low and behold the trigger for riots in 1990 is stealthily re applied to the most volatile members of society.
Curiously just in time for this years council tax bills.

My STHF timetable now reads,
April all the government nastiness hits,
June the first bailiffs start rolling,
July, all hell breaks out.

"New 'poll tax' blow for UK's poorest"

Is the articles headline, problem is people on benefits are not the poorest, single workers on low wages with no kids get hammered in every direction and are still expected to bail out the idle, Greggs scoffing, feckless and ferral underclass.

4 a week isnt much to some one on 25 000 a year like some of these are.

Exactly. The community charge went some way to charging everyone for what they actually used in there local area. The road should have lead to paying what you wanted.

Now, those that have been riding the gravy train have to pay a couple of quid a week. Tough for them.

I always thought the poll tax was a better way of paying . i was the only earner in my household of myself and two young children at the time , next door had 5 adults in full time employment . and why should you pay more rates because your house is of a higher value .
