I think the bailout right now is a mistake. Most will be going to irresponsible billionaire companies to prop up their stock price to help mostly the very wealthy. Crumbs to the people. The crumbs will be eaten by the interest and hyper inflation.

We don't need a bailout from this temporary hickup. We need a dose of reality, to stay at home, reflect, make some sacrifices, beat this virus, and then let the market adjust what it adjusts, and get back to work.

Instead the government is printing money to prop up companies for their own failure to plan.

It makes me ill and more concerned as we get closer to the collapse.

To my surprise I'm thinking precious metals, even though I've never been much of a goldbug. And I'm thinking this way because I'm looking at all this basically newly printed money the Feds are going to be giving us to chase a limited number of goods, and I'm thinking "Inflation. Hyper inflation".

What does it take to make a conservative a socialist?

Apparently $1,000.

What I read was that it will go to people filing tax returns in the year 2018. Most retirees (or folks on disability) do not earn enough to file a return. There is a website (sorry, I donít have the address on hand) that you can use to see if you are eligible. When I checked last that is what it said.

When I checked a few days ago the information given said that retirees would not be eligible unless they filed a return in 2018. I just checked again and apparently things have changed and even non-filers would be eligible for some help. Iím glad because prices in stores have gone up considerably and folks on fixed incomes are having problems also.

According to the legislation, people who do not typically file taxes because their income is very low will need to file a 2019 tax return in order to receive a stimulus check. That may be a challenge for some, however, because many services that help low-income taxpayers file tax returns for free have suspended in-person operations to deter the spread of the coronavirus. Most low-income taxpayers are eligible to file tax returns online for free through the IRS Free File program.

Cool. Gotta love the magic of fiat money created out of thin air. All because of a flu virus. So the debt clock should go from 23 trillion to 25 trillion (or something like that?). At this point ... it really doesn't matter. All we have to do is plant a few dozen more money trees and all will be peachy (no pun intended). Gotta love the D.C. cronyism. God I hope I die before THIS financial bubble bursts!!!!!!!

Exactly.

Compared to what they took? - That little crap check is nothing.

If every single American had to write a single check at the end of the year instead of those taxes coming out a tiny bit at a time from each paycheck this would be a very different thread.

Simple Experiment: Ask a co-worker or friend tomorrow is they know how much they paid in federal taxes last year. Ask them if they even know the actual number...

I seem to wind up paying the the Feds every year. So on the remote chance I see a dime, itís most likely going right back.

It looks like the swamp critters get a one month paid vacation... heaven forbid they stay at work during a time when our Nation is on the verge of collapse.

They want out of town before the arrests begin... you can run but you can not hide.

Is it just me, or does this kind of feel like we chloroformed our grandchildren and sold their spare kidneys for drug money?

Republicans upset that working class is getting a measly extra 600 a month to make ends meet but have no issue bailing out billionaires and multimillionaires with an extra 500 billion dollar special section that is opaque to the public.

I oppose unregulated corporate welfare as well, but don't ever believe that its only the Republicans that do it.
