We would love to do something about it, unfortunately we do not have the ability to do anything about it.

This is the only site it happens on on my end. Seems like it could be controlled by the admins.

Unfortunately we have very little control when it comes to the site.

I am the day to day Admin and I have nothing to do with anything revenue related. This has to do with people way above our pay grade, which happens to be $0.00, zilch, nada. I am not happy with the ad program they have settled with as far as gaining revenue. Of course, the owner(s) need to be paid for running this place behind the scenes and the server load has to be paid somehow. I just paid for a VIP, it is cheap enough if you hang out here more than a few hours a day. Cheaper than playing lotto every week and no more expensive than an extra fancy coffee. For that, you get zero ads. I think it would be worth it for content and entertainment value alone and especially so for those that have not mastered the art of blocking ads and popups. Yes, I know, it takes work and research to block everything.
I mean, denying the owner of covering operating revenue should not be so easy.

But, yes, I agree, the aggressive ads that prohibit forum usage should be stopped. What I can do is send these complaints up the chain. And I will do that tonight.

Thanks for the honest reply MTShawn.

I don't mean to bag on the volunteer admins, so I apologize for that. I mis-worded that response. I assume your role is basically moderating / policing... working with what you're given to work with. Sort of like NFL refs enforcing stupid the bad rules handed down to them from the NFL's owners and rules committee.

Yes, I understand there are costs involved, with running a site like this. I have no idea how much that amounts to though. Apparently the merchant fees and VIP memberships aren't bringing in enough cash for the monetary expectations of the owner. You refer to "they" .. I thought this was Kev's site. Apparently there are more involved.

Either way, I had considered supporting financially in the past with the vip level but will never do so until the ridiculous ban on the dreaded word / topic that shall not be named is rescinded. Survivalist minded folks are largely right of center and that is very much a right of center value that blends in with all the rest of the normal mindset of personal responsibility that reflects self reliance and EP.

I will take the time to figure out how to block this stuff, just didn't figure that should be necessary after all these years. It's not that big of a deal in the big scheme of things. Cheers!
