Default Vacation spot suggestions?

Advertise Here

Our favorite place on the ocean just recently changed their occupancy rules and our 5 person family must rent a cabin i/o standard 2 bed room. Not really a problem, except the cabins are not on the beach. Kinda misses the whole vacation on the beach bit.

So we are looking for another spot. Your helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Here's exactly what we are looking for:

1. ON the beach. i.e. short walking distance, no buildings blocking my view
2. In room kitchen
3. 2-3 beds
4. Not a tourist town
5. October/November time frame

We are looking to relax, enjoy our kids and not think about work, Ebola or family drama.

Quileute Oceanside Resort

is where we usually go , the quileute has rustic cabins for as little as $40 a night and much nicer ones for a bit more, we go surfing during the summer right at the beach there, close to the rain Forrest and right on the beach, decent spot, if your staying in one of the rustic cabins you need to bring all of your own pillows and blankets and such, it's on par with a cabin you'd rent in a state park, the other ones are more like a modern large apartment with all amenities.

but as i said, I'm usually there with the purpose of surfing and playing in the rain Forrest and i like cheap, so the rustic cabins are where we usually end up unless we are bringing more people and a few ladies. lol

First -- stay here -- dont spend your tourist dollars in another country

2 -- drive a bunch of miles then put away the map & turn off the GPS -- and just drive --- ask directions

Some of my best outings were just winging it --- Wifey and I once drove 1000 miles to have the car washed and buy Häagen-Dazs ice cream - when we saw Boston in the distance - we both said nope

What beach are you looking for and what is your dollar range? Hell, we have 6000sqft gulf view homes here if you have deep enough pocketbooks. You said "ocean" so I can assume you're talking west coast... but.

lol, i considered it just part of the local spectacle. it did however put me off Asian women for a number of years, could never really quite be sure they were women after the time i spent there, kinda figured it's best to avoid them as a whole instead of taking the risk. lol

beaches are nice though, lol

Moclips, WA. The motels out there are not fancy and you should plan to bring in your groceries. It does fit your criteria though.

This is a link to Google Maps. You can zoom out to see where it lies on the WA State coastline.

Anywhere along the Long Beach Peninsula, WA. IS a Tourist Destination until August, but during Off-Season, You could Hike Miles without Meeting a Dozen Folks. Some GREAT restaurants scattered over Miles of varying littoral Scenery.

We have a Condo in Kauai, for over Twenty Years...Otherworldly, for Mainlanders...

Yeah, for "Maximum Otherworldly", We go to Thailand...

We ended up not going to the coast but went to Leavenworth instead. Much shorter travel time and they were just starting the Christmas festivities. (Thanksgiving week). We had a great time but definitely missed the ocean.

Nothing else comes close.
