Anybody from or ever been to Pahrump? There is much to do and much excitement in Pahrump. Aside from not being all that far from Vegas, Pahrump has Front Sight, one of the best firearms training places in the world.

The Pahrump Valley Winery makes some decent wines and their Symphony's Restaurant is excellent. It's a great starting point for quite a few really nice ATV/Jeeps trails. Also, they have the two closest legal brothels to Las Vegas.

Well aside from that as I said they do have Front Sight, one of the best firearms training centers in the country. Front Sight is perhaps even better than most of the firearms training done at police academies for people going into careers in law enforcement. That would explain why there's lots of police officers and soldiers that go to Front Sight. Anyway, as it is I've taken eight classes at Front Sight and I plan to take more. All of the classes were very informative and you spend at least 8 hours a day on the range and in addition to that there is classroom time too. At Front Sight they strive to make their students bypass the standards set by police and military programs. As such I consider myself as knowledge and as skilled with firearms as many of the people on this board.

Pahrump "DOES ROCK!" It's nice to be able to get away from the big city's and see all those Ron Paul signs everywhere in Pahrump.

I bought the Guardian membership from there and have a bunch of certs and stuff if people want to go there. :D I should actually start getting those out. Front sight changes lives!

Pa-rump-a-bump-bump is a good place. I know a lot of people there with similar interests and feel at home there.

As for front sight, I have not and know many a people who go and over all I would say 80% happy with it.

A good site to check out is Nevada shooters. A good chunk of pahrumpians there.

Went to Front Site for some training over 10 years ago when it first opened. Top notch place. Hoping to go back someday (soon).

Pahrump is okay, hit and miss. Some areas are junkyards, while others are quite nice.
Easy access to the West side of Mt. Charleston (fewer people), and some good off roading areas.
I live in Vegas and I'm looking at retiring there.

Rocks update:

The world's largest race track with housing will soon start in town.

Two traffic circles are now being installed on Hwy. 372. Let's coin them the Raider Circles of Death.

NFL Raiders might come to LV. Go Packers.

More housing going in at Mountain Falls golf course. Decent bar and restaurant.

More housing starts in town.

Paddy's Pub updated in national TV. (No truer dive bar prior to remodeling)

Whatshisname (Sorry dude) purchased and updated the old Valley Bar on Gamebird. I do need to stop in some day.

Emmalee's Guns and Emporium continues to rock.

The town fathers were talking about easier access for off road rides on city streets to offroad areas. (Need update)

They continue to talk about a movie theater coming to town.

Chinese restaurant moved to a new building Hwy. 160. Pretty good.

Talk of high speed rail (Da bullet train or Hyperloop whatever) going through and stopping in town / Reno to LV.

Talk of fiber optic internet coming. not holding my breath.

VEA has a good program for solar water heating for homes. Solar juice program soon?

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a weekend place out there. Just to see if I'd like to transition.

Looking for property out there, more out and away from town directly. Vegas is fine for conducting business but not even remotely interested in being under Clark County Policy's and enforcement/revenue generation tactics. Just want 100 acres if I can get it.
