I'd say we've been a bit warmer than usual. I like it.
You'll know it cold when Eskimos yell "dang, its cold!" I haven't said this yet.

Hope you get back to normal Alaska weather. When it's warm in Alaska we are cold in the northern rocky mtns. It's starting to look like we are going to have one of those rare years here where the snow that fell in November will be around all winter till March.

In Anchorage ó for the first time since temperature monitoring began ó the temperature did not drop below zero degrees during the calendar year.

That is amazing!

I think the article said Fairbanks had the fourth warmest year ever. Not quite so amazing when you consider that the weather records only extend back one hundred some years.

Well it sure as shootin' ain't warm up here today. -44 on my thermometer in the living room (for outside temps, inside is the standard 62). Some places further out form me even hit -50.

Both the boilers are running today, I swear I can hear "cha-ching!" ringing out from the garage.

As far as third weeks in Jan go, it isn't the worst I have been through and it is only supposed to last a few days (we will see) before popping back up above zero on occasion.

So, I work from home, sip hot chocolate and be damn glad I am not driving around out there. All the while cussing at all the paperwork I have been so creatively avoiding that is biting me on the ass today.
