I have the XD 40 (not the M). I really like this pistol and have not found any reason to make any upgrades, other than the night sites.

5 inch olive drab xd9 here. Upgraded the striker spring guide from plastic to green aluminum. Plan on upgrading all the roll pins and trigger parts when I purchase another handgun.

I have three XDs and one XDm. Realisticly, the only upgrade that benefits these is the addition of night sights. Just be sure to have a pro do the instal work. Those sights are TIGHT!

My XD Sub-compact in 40 S&W on the day I bought it. Brings a tear to my eye to see it all new and shiny tucked in its little carry case. That was 3 or so years ago...

I paid off my pistol today and pick it up tomorrow!
The reason behind that is I bought it over the bridge in WI and they have to bring it over to a FFL in MN to do the paperwork.

This is kind of a thread drift but.......
I'm wondering if there's any certain ammo that I shouldn't get for the XD?
Or is pretty much anything ok for it?

I have two XD's both in 40 S&W, got the 5" Tactical in OD green and black, and a 4" Service model in all black. No Mods, and don't plan on any, IMHO they are perfect the way they came.

Oh and for those of you pictures or it isn't real people, visit my page and look through my GEAR photo album.

I just picked up my XD Sub Compact today(sorry, I don't know how to post pics) and inside the case is a piece of paper saying that the Beretta Model 92 Pre-ban 17 round magazines fits the XD perfectly.

This is kind of a plus for me because I was trying to make up my mind between a KelTec Sub2000 9mm and a Hi Point. If I can find the right KelTec and those mags then its worth waiting for!

Here's mine, XD45 tactical w/ S&W Micro90 weapon light:

It is my bedside table gun, love it. I even carry it occasionally during the winter months (OWB in a Don Hume 721ot, or CBST).
I got this over two years ago, have about 2K through it, not one failure. Really is reliable and accurate.

Nope, only use Factory mags in mine. If it works though, let me know.
