Exclamation Australian Policy Paper: Risk of Climate Change Collapse by 2050

Advertise Here

A new Australian policy paper from a published climate scientist, a retired oil/gas/coal exec, and a retired Australian admiral warns of climate change apocalypse by 2050.

Kind of hate how people always soften the blow---

Quote:
Spratt and Dunlop present their scenario as a potential outcome for making policy decisions, not a prediction for the future.
However, later on in the article, there's this:

Quote:
[Kai Chan, a professor of climate science at the University of British Columbia] says the scenario outlined in the paper is “plausible” based on the assumption that no one will work together to stop climate change.
Quote:
He also points out that the paper’s doomsday scenario isn’t necessarily caused by climate change alone. Instead, climate change is merely a factor that puts strain on other problems in the geopolitical system, such as migration patterns, income inequality...

“Because of our interconnected markets and nations … breakdowns have ripple effects,” he said.
Here's the paper itself

Its smart to push your predictions out until after you're dead. AOC should take note.

If anyone cares to read a little it already has collapsed.

Did You Know?
The highest air temperature recorded in North America was 134 degrees Fahrenheit (56.7 degrees Celsius), on July 10, 1913, at the aptly named Furnace Creek in Death Valley, California.
Thanks to decades of "greenhouse gas heat accumulation" it hasn't exceeded that record.
Great work, GG! Cool that planet.

Global Warming makes 6 monkeys ****ing a football look like an organized, logical event that makes sense.

Global nuclear war is the sure cure for climate change and world over-population.

It's time to dust off the Paradise Scenario and target list Mr. President.

About 1000 small tactical warheads of 2 kt each should do nicely.

This is what people are missing. Whether or not climate change is man-made or not is IRRELEVANT.

There are so many threats to our global supply chain it's not even funny. Just think about the Amazon phenomenon. Most places in the USA will soon be devoid of any way to purchase your daily needs if the Amazon AKA Homeland Security drone stops flying.

Climate change is a natural process. There have been like 4 to 6 Snowball Earths where the snow and ice was a mile deep at the equator. Eventually all that snow and ice melted away and life on Planet Earth returned to normal. So this cyclic event of freezing and thawing is NOT NEW and mankind has zero to do with it. Trying to blame mankind for anything to do with climate change is silly. Mankind is a puny influence as far as Mother Nature is concerned. The only good climate change can do for anybody is bring a small group of liberals some money which can't be used to change anything at all.

The key point that they realize is that there is not going to be a concerted logical approach to tackle climate change.
Governments can not solve 'simple problems' and climate change is probably the biggest problem ever created...

That report is grim reading.

According to AOC we only have 12 years left, we will never see 2050.

Collapse is more likely to be economic and to come from ever-increasing arbitrary fees/taxes levied on your "carbon footprint."

Governments do not need any excuse to tax anyone.
They can create taxes out of thin air and set them at any rate they feel like.
Then rake in the money and buy whatever their heart's desire is.

Don't imagine that being a climate skeptic will someone keep your taxes low.
Quite the opposite in the long run.

Climate change isnt a tax scheme. It's a wealth redistribution scheme.

Amen.

Looks like government can't even deal with the sudden increase in population. So many things have been planned without it in mind-- or just not the right scale of increase.

If the facts of life of day-to-day government are just dealing with small problems that excite voters, and if they often intentionally make problems worse instead of better, how can we expect them to work together on a real climate change solution at this point?

If they can't even prevent New York City from turning into something like Hong Kong or Mexico City, how can they solve a problem like that?

Just thinking of all the elaborate, very often monumental-scale urban and semi-urban infrastructure around here, of how much depends on it, and how too often it gives the impression of being Elmer's glued and rubber banded together!

It's not that it wasn't designed well and built well in the first place, just that it seems a little forgotten about, and the importance of it seems forgotten about.

It's kind of wild that people even want to debate something like regulating bump stocks or suppressors, when we have problems like meteors, CMEs, climate change, and pandemics, to name just a few, headed towards us!

I thought we were all already dead and debating this is just part of being in purgatory. Im pretty sure that climate change killed us in 2016 or 2017 like it was predicted. and if that didn't get us it might have been the Mayan apocalypse of 2012. Whichever predicted apocalypse that actually got us Im still pretty sure were all dead right now.

I suspect the odds that society collapses by 2050 due to debt is much higher.
