You are correct. The ATF claim that "it was all just a typo" is contradicted by the ATF plan as described thusly:

The AR platform is the semi-automatic version of the M16 machinegun originally designed for and used by the military. The AR-based handguns and rifles utilize the same magazines and share identical receivers. These AR-type handguns were not commercially available when the armor piercing ammunition exemption was granted in 1986. To ensure consistency, upon final implementation of the sporting purpose framework outlined above, ATF must withdraw the exemptions for 5.56 mm “green tip” ammunition, including both the SS109 and M855 cartridges.7

ATF recognizes that this ammunition is widely available to the public. Because it is legally permissible to possess armor piercing ammunition under current law, withdrawing the exemption will not place individuals in criminal possession of armor piercing ammunition. However, with few exceptions, manufacturers will be unable to produce such armor piercing ammunition, importers will be unable to import such ammunition, and manufacturers and importers will be prohibited from selling or distributing the ammunition.8

O. Hussein O. is biting off off more than he can chew. Even his own party and SOCTUS (Roberts) understand that the wrath won't be coming from the cartridge box, or the preempted soap box (Lying disingenuous media) but the reinvigorated ballot box.

Conservatives are staying calm and voting economically as well as with their feet. Let the Bastards drown in the effluence of their own philosophies. Cut them off from from your wallet. Refuse to pay to play. Move your family, move your business, home school, cast your votes but never give the bastards another iota of validation whatever you do.

I hope you're right. Unfortunately, if the evangelicals stay home (once again) because they can't stomach voting for a Mormon (or whomever isn't exactly what they want) and instead, would rather see an America-hating Muslim sympathizer (Clinton) with Muslim Brotherhood agents in her cabinet, then that's what we'll have.

I always wondered if the evangelicals hate Mormons more than they do Muslims. Last election we found out.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" ~ 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

What part of that is unclear? Or are bullets not considered to be arms? And if they are not arms, why ban any of them?

Tell me how is this "for my own protection"? Do so many innocent civilians wear plate carriers now that they need a ban on armor piercing ammo to feel safe? Or are the people who deploy plate armored soldiers afraid that we will have the means to fight them when they do something we don't like?

Hand Grenades are also arms, and I guess you could classify pressure cookers also as arms, or if your name is Timothy McVeigh, then 55 gallon drums are also arms.

I say ban it all.
