Apparently our (CA.) bumbling legislature is too busy banning plastic bags and making more bike lanes to worry about the 6500 jobs Tesla will be bringing to Nevada with their brand new facility. Congrats on knowing how to build business in your state.

P.S. When our idiot politicians get down running this state into the ground can I come stay with you for a while?

don't be too excited about that company...

http://www.foxbusiness.com/economy-p...ttery-factory/
http://calwatchdog.com/2012/10/12/ca...-tesla-motors/
http://money.cnn.com/2014/02/10/inve...ina/index.html "announced higher than expected subsidies for electric cars"

This company has been hemorrhaging money for years and is "only" in business because of Musk's personal money and gov disbursement of tax payer dollars to subsidize their vehicle sales. It won't be long before they want NV to kick in some money to 'help them' build new buildings there, too.

I'm not necessarily excited about that company. I'm more saddened other companies might follow suit and head to NV sending CA. further down the poop shoot.

California is on the slide down, that's for sure.
They're going to wake up one day soon and not have anyone else's tax revenue to **** away and they'll start eating themselves.

As for other companies following suit, the exodus has been going on for years, my friend.
250+ companies have fled that state since 2010. This site says in 2011, it was at a rate of ~5 a week! http://www.ocregister.com/articles/m...ies-texas.html

I'd get out now before they put up a wall or pass a law that will tax you at CA rates if you leave the state to live somewhere else

The jobs will come at a price that's for sure. But, the jobs are also going to an area that is fairly in need of some growth. Reno, albeit a beautiful city has been struggling to re-identify itself as the regional casinos popping up the past decades have decimated it's once lucrative gaming revenue.

Once the central Ca. places popped up on the highways to the Sierras it put a big hurt on downtown Reno and Tahoe.

we'll take take the Tesla jobs in Reno. we need it. yes angryred, the indian casinos in CA have hurt us big time. i'm suprised all the libs in Vegas didn't shut the deal down because it was going to the north end of the state. Vegas is its own big city world and does NOT represent Nevada!

don't congrat us too soon as we gave a helluva lot of tax breaks to Tesla.

Didn't several years ago, Komifornia pass a law that if you retired in Komifornia, and moved to another state, Komifornia would continue to collect taxes off your retirement? I'm retired military, and seem to remember this being a sore subject with many about to retire. Clarification please.

No longer true. I get my pension from the City and County of San Francisco where I worked (and lived near) for 34 years.

The ONLY deduction I have now is federal income tax. Not a cent to the state of CA or anywhere else(NV has no state income tax). Because of the many, many, & I mean many less deductions, plus now receiving social security, my clear monthly income about doubled since I retired, even though my gross income is about the same as always.

In fact, the state of CA now owes me six months of CA state income tax because I paid CA for six months before I got around to stopping the CA tax deduction. I verified with the CA Franchise Tax Board that they will return the money when I do my very last CA state tax return (from here in Nevada) in a couple of months.

NV has been my primary residence since the day I retired on 1, Jan 2014, but I still own the home in South San Francisco, CA (and two more here in Reno, NV). I owned one of the houses here in Reno for 12 years, so from Jan 1 (the day I retired) I should not have to pay any CA state tax, since by far, I have been living in Reno the most since the day I retired.

But if people move to CA from another state, then CA can tax their pension.

But CA is a very good place to move out of when retiring. I now have a NV driver's license and that was great for my hobby of gun collecting. I spent $6,000.00 more on guns in the last two days at the Reno gun show.

I mainly like to collect whatever is illegal in CA! AR-15's, etc.

That was the Kalifornia "Source Tax", finally ended by an act of the U.S. Congress.
Nevada Republican congresswoman Barbara Vucanovich was the author of the bill which put a stop to that particular taxation without representation.
After she retired several other politicians have claimed credit for her action, including Harry Reid!
They are all liars, Barbara was the hero on this.

So Kali. can no longer tax your retirement income even if it is paid by a Kali. company.
But they WILL try to get you to pay any and sundry other taxes including property and vehicles even if you no longer own them.

I know several Nevada residents being forced to pay Kali. income tax despite only spending eight hours a day there and having NO say in Kali. politics.
If you work there you WILL be required to pay their income and vehicle taxes even if you do NOT live there.

I'll be leaving this state for Nv. in a few months for all of the above reasons and then some. People are flooding to Nv. because of over Regulation of laws that are doing nothing but sticking to the people and businesses as well. There have been a bunch of auto specialty type stores that have relocated to Reno. I had forgotten what "Free America" was like, I saw so many guns in real life that I'd only seen in pictures only because of Ca. draconian laws that it's time to go!
I'll be saving over $250 @ month just in housing costs and gain over 200 Sq. Ft. of space, insurance with save me [email protected] month, vehicle registration will be $38 vs $105 per vehicle.
Being a Disabled Vet in Nevada is such a better deal then this stink hole Ca. I can't wait!!

Margaret Thatcher voiced it best:

"The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money".

California is going to prove it.

They're going to make it so onerous to stay in business in California, by raising taxes to pay for all the Socialist "wealth distribution" schemes, that smart businesses won't locate in California.

Then we'll get to watch the legislature attempt to get blood out of rocks.....

Let me tell you about bike lanes...
They're doing the same thing in Nevada
They just resurfaced a road near my house.
Two lanes each direction.
Now it's only one lane each direction because they took an entire lane for a bike lane.
The jerks.
At most maybe three or four bike riders a day use that road.

Don't you dare put me in that category! You have no right to say that as you don't know where I'm from or how I vote! Your just another narrow minded libtard that don't have any facts!
