Got a bit sicker after my last lift. Took until yesterday to feel better again. Hope it doesn't happen after this session!

Still weird to lift without my legs. Balance is a little better now as I go. My strength isn't terrible after what I've went through, but still no stamina. I go to find out the results of my MRI this coming Thursday, so I'll know then when surgery is planned.

I've been lazy and lax, not recording my workouts. I'll try to remember my last 3 since I just got home from today's lift.

Got to get back into the groove of posting my workouts! Only a day late...

The light-day session went pretty quick, less than 20 minutes. I wish there was more that I could do, but at least I get in to learn the results of my MRI and set up a day for my knee surgery next week.

I am dying to get back to rows, OHP, squats and trapbar deadlifts!

Got the results of my MRI this morning. As suspected, torn meniscus and a sprained tendon. Waiting for the phone call to set up surgery which should be toward the end of the month or beginning of February. 72 hours of couch potato-ness followed by three weeks of going easy.

72 hours down, that's pretty good! Recovery, and surgery techniques have really made great strides in the last 20 years or so...

They sure have, Jo. But my doc and now his partner were both firm about that 72 hour window. I can't do anything. Then it's slowly move around afterward until I don't hurt before starting to lift again.

Too much to do yesterday, so I moved Wednesday to today.

Felt pretty good lifting today. Last night was the first good rest I've had in a week. Stupid knee wakes me up and the pain is so bad I struggle to return to sleep.

As always, dips and hammers were supersetted. Finished this session in about twenty-five minutes.

Good as Friday felt, today was the opposite! Oh, well, I got'er done.

Close grip bench press
140x10
240x10
310x1
330x1
Dips
BWx5
25#x2
50#x2
90#x5 sets of 2

Finished in less than 20 minutes. Probably should have taken more time between dip sets. Most rest periods were 30-45 seconds.

Haven't put a tape to them - misplaced it - but my arms are finally recovering some of their size lost during and after the weeks of my miserable kidney operation and the resulting infection. My wife yesterday and a couple lunch buddies today remarked about the added mass in my shoulders of late, too. I guess working dips so hard while unable to bench heavily are paying off!

Can't complain, except that I'll soon be at the bottom working up toward todays weights, which aren't halfway to where I have set my sights.

Tired of surgeries now!
