And they're printing it as fast as they can to keep up with demand.
You should have at least 25% of your portfolio in physical ammo.
A consumable item is not a currency.

And now, the apolitical non-partisan opinion meister, Mr Obscure Universe, points out that :
Since 1933, and the State of Emergency, no dollars have circulated. Dollar bills (Federal Reserve Notes) are worthless IOUs, denominated in dollars, but are minus value until redeemed.

The question : "Is the national debt - over 26.5 trillion dollars - denominated in gold dollars or worthless IOUs?"

This is important.
Because if the debt is based on lawful money (gold coin), the debt computes to 1,325,000,000,000 ounces of gold, stamped into coin. (Coinage Act of 1792, et seq).
This raises the next question : Since the worldwide supply (est) of gold bullion is roughly 6 billion ounces, where is the 1,325 billion ounces of gold BORROWED by CONgress?
And if the CONgress did not borrow lawful money (gold coin) what did it borrow?
Worthless IOUs?
No par value?
ZERO.

Then the creditor is owed nothing. Good bye national debt and the yearly interest charge.
And there goes the dollar bill. Billionaires become Zero-aires overnight.

(Wuh woh, Scooby, now you've got them scared)
Naw, they know that no one can challenge the validity of the debt, even if it is bogus. See clause 4, 14th amendment, USCON.
>D'Oh!<

So who are the parties liable on that bogus national debt?
12 USC Sec 411 says it's the gubmint.
They're broke - and the creditor cannot confiscate property held in trust for the public.
What about those 330 million "human resources" signed up as "contributors" via FICA?
BINGO.

I'm no huge fan of China but when it comes to the global economy, China has been very important.

Since China opened up around 1980, their low cost manufacturing has been the critical force in reducing our inflation, from a crippling 18% to 2%. They invested the dollars they get from us into our bonds, lowering our interest rates. Mortgages have fallen from 20% to 4% and treasuries to 1%, allowing the government to borrow over 20 trillion dollars with hardly any increase in interest payments -and in fact has permitted great reductions in tax rates, so American wealth has been enriched, eg, the Dow rising from 1,200 to 26,000.

So do you have some factual basis for your statement about China destroying our economy? Let's hear it.

It's money till one morning we get up and it isn't anymore. The USA just suffered the worst drop in GDP in it's history. 32% drop in GDP. Th supply chains are still clunky, not working. The US Unemployment rate is 18%, I think everyone is on borrowed time. China is worse they have 1.4 B mouths to feed, the EU is on life support. US M2. https://tradingeconomics.com/united-...oney-supply-m2

There's something about the reserve currency leading to the petrodollar here:

It must be too late then, because I will never "be prepared"

Unfortunately I can't share that, because while some of it was spot on, some of it was so absurdly incorrect it's laughable.

Like when switching from Euros to USE for oil, the idiot narrating claimed that there was a loss because they were valued differently.

They didn't do it on a 1:1!

Glaring errors like this makes the entire effort crap.

So, you are done prepping as you are 'there'? I don't believe I could ever be 'there' completely as there is always something else that can be added to the homestead, tools, skills, etc.

Of course, one can never "completely" wash the car, never completely mow the lawn, never completely clean his plate... there is always something

I honestly can't think of a single thing I would need for survival that I don't already have.
Now that I have my body in half decent shape I want nothing.

If EVERYONE is in trouble...what’s the thing that would drive a change in what currency is the one?

We have problems. We also have the resources and people to climb out faster than anyone else.

Assuming the left isn’t in charge and running interference for the traitors and socialists.

So....none of your food stores has an expiration date? Your energy sources will never run out, batteries never die, and your water will never run out or get nasty? If you are saying no to any of those ...then you are never done, you are just in the process of “staying” prepared.

Certainly some my food stores have expiration dates, they are replenished as they are eaten. If and when the food store looks like it will become exhausted I have a garden and can grow my own veggies and potatoes . I don't need batteries to survive. I have my own well... I have access to more than enough meat. I am done preparing.

the chinese are incredibly corrupt. The government probably has 1 million corrupt civil servants taking bribes, hiring cronies, diverting money etc.

They may still surpass the US, but to portray them as a well oiled machine is monsters under the bed.

They have a ton of cheap labor that has helped them to get to this point. If they tried to have the same standard of living as us, they would suck all the wealth from the entire rest of the world.

I am hedging my bets, my children will all be fluent in chinese, spanish, and english, so they can relocate to wherever they need to.
