I just heard three loud booms. I when out side and heard military jets. I think it was the jets breaking the sound barrier. I have not heard them do this in over 20 years and my dad said they quit doing it because of damage(breaking glass and such). I do live in a very active MOA in south west Alabama.

Do they still do it over populated areas?

used to be alot of activity when i was growing up . b 52s out of wright pat would almost daily bomb stanford ky. when i was six a b58 crashed in mckinney. i watched it go down in the middle of the night out my bedroom window. all three were lost. i flew over the crash site couple yrs ago. you can still see the two cigar shaped craters. they fill with water when its rainy.i remember driving in my moms car by it as the whole area went to see, big thing then Ng were out picking up the debri.God bless them they were training to fly a super sonic bomber 500 ft off the ground that was built to fly at 60,000 feet, died trying to keep up with soviet air defence advancement . f4s, f 101, marine crusaders all the time.i miss that. but i love aircraft

I have been called three times already about a plane crash and helicopters flying around. I know it was a sonic boom, but that shows how rare they are around here.

I guess people use a lot of tinfoil here.

We hear sonic booms less often than full order weapons tests. If you want to hear the sound of freedom, try a full scale FAE test.

NAS Meridian said they had two jets in the MOA last night after the sheriff called. South Alabama must have had over 100 reports of plane crashes last night. The law enforcement agencies from several counties were flooded with reports. I feel sorry for those 2 pilots, they probably don't have a but to sit on this morning after the ruckus they caused.

We hear them up here occasionally.

Not often though considering how big of a playground they have up here.

Not supposed to bust the sound barrier below 10,000 MSL (Mean Sea Level) But the military gets all the cool toys and all the fun that goes with them.

I'm in the Fl Panhandle , in between a Navy base and a Af base, we hear explosions and vulcans all the time( practice)....... IMO, That's the sound of freedom.....I sleep good at night.

I like to go outside and watch the dog fights and I don't care if the want to make sonic booms. They need to do it more regularly to get people used to it.
