Russian T55 for me, a friend used to own one, we went shopping in it as a kid, that image of sat on a tank going to the shops has never left me.

theres a bridge he had to cross and to do so he was over the weight limit so he used to floor it and bounce the tank over it instead

I drove one tank once, but it was a long time ago and I forget what it was. I believe it was US made but it was pretty uncomfortable both to sit in and to drive.

This would be a cool vehicle to own.

I think it would be cool to have a T-10 tank sitting in your front lawn.

The smallest one I could find...the versatility would be great and the smaller I would be as a target the better!

If able to purchase I would purchase the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Firepower and speed plus you can carry a squad.

there was an an Ontos with 6 106mm recoilless rifles parked with our m109 155mm sp howitzers for a short bit, I thought the little fella was pretty cool but I would not like to reload it while under fire.

The internet failed to produce a proper picture of a decent land battleship.

Ha! I figured you'd find something.

I looked and all I found was the Air Force version.

I think from a prepper/survivalist POV an APC would probably serve most people better, but the Merkava is a MBT that can also hold 6 troops in addition to the crew. The tank rose from lessons learned by the Israelis in the 6 day & Yom Kippur wars. Then you'd still have a full sized main gun and the ability to have your own infantry team to deploy.

It's what I served on, so I know it.
They're old enough to be found surplus, so parts are out there to be had.
The 105mm gun is plenty enough for most threats even today.
With the add-on reactive armor it's a pretty safe vehicle for the crew.
I absolutely LOVE the sound of that air cooled Continental V-12 turbo-diesel.
I don't know much about these things, but I was thinking the Patton as well. (I know, I know, this one is not technically a Patton.) I always thought it was underrated because the timing was just off a little bit.

A British Universal carrier maybe? Fairly small and very fast.

Also known as the Bren gun carrier.
