An observation, we're watching our local news cover the storm. A news lady was on location in Charleston berating the people who haven't listened to " the governor and the President ", those who chose to stay and board up their property and look after it. She talked down about some people who she saw walking around. There isn't even a friggin storm there yet! I've noticed the " government knows better than the people " attitude coming out. Hell, I remember hurricane parties back in the day.

Funny ain't it. I'm watching 7 now. Looks like it's moving West more than previously thought.
Hurricane Parties are a blast, if you are prepared. Lol

Damn guys... All we've had today is a light drizzle. Be careful out there at and by the coast! And don't bother with warning shots...they're just a waste of ammo.

Here is a link I posted in the "main Mathew thread", it is the frequencies for SC HEART ham radio repeaters, they are linked statewide, and the centra location is at the SC Emergency Management Division (EMD) and will be monitored 24/7 until they close down the EMD JIS/JOC (Joint Info System/Join Operations Center) or he State of Emergency is over.
The NWS in Chas. is asking for reports, the disaster net is active.
Tides near Chas (in creeks) are already 3-4' above normal.

Almost nothing happened here in the Rock Hill area. Lost power for three hours yesterday morning. Rain for about two days. Lot's of leaves and small branches all over town.

We lost a shingle.....we will rebuild.....
Truly got lucky, 10-15 miles West and we would have been a bit worse off. We were ready for at least 2 weeks. We are really ramping up the preps now!

We still don't have power, lines are snapped out on the road. Gens are running strong (hope they keep it up). We only had minimal debris in the yard thankfully, a bunch of trees down in the swamp around us though. The river is still coming up, and is expected to crest today; hopefully everything remains dry. One of our chicken coops is under water, and the birds are holding out....reminds me of the Johnny Cash song "How highs the water......chickens are sleeping in the willow trees...." Our pigs and rabbits are still high and dry for now, if the river rises another foot, I'll have to move the pigs somehow.
