Default I had to shave my husband's cat

She had a matting problem that wouldn't go away. Cut out one mat and get a bigger one.

Not any more!

She's a little meaty but very pretty.

I'll bet the cat thoroughly enjoyed that.

It could go Dark Side really easy with shaved cat. That is why I said "My husband's" instead of "my".

They sedated her for this, it is safer for everyone. NOT cheap but worth it.

This cat is like the one thing my husband loves in the world. So I take very good care of her (I would anyway).

I'm sure there's people on here who have lots of pointers on how to do that.

After all, there's more than one way to shave a cat.

I get the”hygiene cut” as part of my cats yearly check up.
My vet does that for free.

I can tell that cat has a kind and caring owner. That cat must have been a good soul in a past cat life, to have you as an owner!

With your husband loving the cat , and he isn't overwhelmingly engaged if he has time to drink that much , I would think he would have some time to groom his cat a little more regularily ? It would be a healthy activity for him and good for the cat too .

That cat looks like my fat cat. I shave him myself once a year in the spring. He's a big furry thing who overheats in the summer if I don't. He loves to be shaved. I used to pay the groomer to do it, but then I bought come clippers and now I can trim him up when needed. He used to get klingons (sic) but now I keep that part of him clear.

I thought maybe that was some sort of "dark side euphemism" but I see that you take good care of your critters.

I don't know why they call it "shaving" the cat. You don't use a razor, just some electric clippers. You are giving them a haircut. Cat hair is extremely fine so a good set of ceramic blade clippers is recommended.

It also reduces their tendency to get hair balls. My long haired cat is constantly grooming itself.

Next time ask for a "lion cut".

There's also the "dragon cut".

The first time I got my cat the lion cut, he was so proud of himself he was strutting around the house like the king of the world.

===

I let his hair grow out for the winter so he doesn't get cold.

Here we go.

Hill, she keeps him a little bit afloat in that sea of vodka. He will be a real wreck when she dies.

She is still hiding. I think she's embarrassed.

Baby Girl was very embarrassed by her cut.

But they got 2 big matted areas off so I am happy. If the matting problem continues and is not helped with continued brushing we will just keep having her done.

She hissed at me a few times, would not let me pet her until she ate dry food, treats from my husband, and half a chicken strip. They had me fast her because she got knocked out.

(We took the breading off the chicken strip).

I wonder what the groomer would do if you asked for the landing strip?
