In any case, you had to be picky about Popeye's even in older days. You had to search out wide for the better tasting locations. It's become a whole lot harder now.

There are no good chicken chains in my city now. KFC, Popeyes, and Church's is it. The good one was called Ron's, but the owner got clever. When Church's started a hostile buyout he made a deal to sell if they would give him the cole slaw shreds concession for eternity. So he went from a local chicken chain owner to a national supplier of cole slaw bags. He ended up a lot richer, but we lost the only good chicken joints in town.

Raising Cain's just opened here and it's pretty good, but it's just strips. Chick-Fil-A too, but that's just a sandwich. Still no chain with good boxes of chicken pieces here. All the fish fast food joints just died off around here as well.
We had a Captain Dís (?) open here. The sign said catfish plate $10.99.

I donít think so.

Seared Wild Caught Salmon at home sounds better.

They closed all the Captain D's in my part of Houston.

It wasn't great food, but sometimes the thought of a burger for lunch makes you want something different.

I worked for Popeyes back in 81. I somehow caught hepatitis A while working there. Their chicken is not bad, but I prefer the Colonel anyday.
That must be some kind of chicken sandwich for people to lose their minds this way. I'll wait for Robert Dyer to do a really awkward review like only he can.

https://www.infowars.com/popeyes-cha...cken-sandwich/

INFOWARS has a great collection of videos of Popeye's customers fighting one another. Unfrigging believable.

When the line is 50 people deep, you would think some enterprising people would be buying extra and selling for a hefty premium to the people in the back of the line.

Ill take a fake burger from McDs.

It's like they soak the chicken in grease after it's cooked, just so it will squish out grease when you bite into it.

Maybe its a cultural thing.
then you never have eaten at a jimboys taco. every order comes with free diarea.

my local Popeye's is good. I go there a couple times a month or so.
chickn comparable to KFC but sides much better, esp mash taters. KFC taters are inedible.

sandwich was good but not supernaturally good.

fwiw I HATE Merryland and would move in a heartbeat if I could $wing it.

Altarboy: fecal-oral contamination. That's how you caught it. Someone did not wash their hands before preparing your food and you literally ate ****.

My husband and I had to get a food handler's permit for our business.

Whenever I fly down to the Inland Empire I make sure to stop at Donahoo's.
Best freakin chicken ever.

Second best would be at a chicken farm south of San Felipe, BC.
Fresh and fried to perfection!

I've tried the Popeye's sandwich and truly don't get the reason for the popularity.

20 years ago I used to like KFC, I don't know if my tastes changed
or the Chicken but I don't like it any more. I do like Popeye's Chicken.
Today I had my first Popeye's Chicken sandwich, and I really liked it.
It was the spicy version, and it was no better or worse than Chick Fillet.
But it was different with the spices yet it almost seemed like they paid
a Chick Fillet employee to teach them how to make a good Chicken Sandwich
using their own batter and spices.

I prefer a burger from burger king or wendys. NEVER Mcdonalds.

There's a guy I work with who've I've seen take a crap (well, I assume that's what I did, haha) and not wash his hands. I thought that was disgusting. And the guy was even a paramedic before he worked here!

The guy's a decent enough guy. I almost thought about inviting him over for games until I saw that.

One day we were talking and I forgot all about how I saw him do that, and I had just come out of the bathroom and I mentioned how I just saw someone in there and they took a crap and didn't wash their hands, and how that was disgusting.

He tells me that he won't wash his hands here because using the blow dryers is extremely unsanitary. He just uses sanitizer (they have hand sanitizer outside most of the bathrooms). I told him he could still wash his hands and just not dry them - that's what I do. After I go #1 or #2 I wash my hands, and particularly very good after #2. I don't use the hand dryers because I don't think they are sanitary, but that doesn't mean I won't wash my hands. That was just disgusting. I am very careful to not touch a computer he used or anything he touches. And to think he worked as a paramedic??

I mean other than that, he's a real nice guy. But that's just gross.

Hey, that's great. If the thugs stick to Popeye's maybe they will stay out of my Chik-Fil-A.

My local popeyes,well25 miles away, was substandard but is better now. They have the best fast food onion rings. They don't keep any under the warmer so make fresh every time. Though jack in the box has been having breaded onion rings for $2 for a month now that are good.

I stopped by Popeyes today to try the chicken sandwich. I could not believe how busy they were. I've been there probably 20 times this year (it's my favorite place to eat - they have a digital coupon for 3 tenders side and a biscuit for $3.99 that I always get). At most there's been two cars in the drive through, if any, and maybe one or two people in line.

Today the inside was packed and the drive thru line went around the building!

The sandwich was good. It's been a long time since I've had a Chic fil a sandwich but I thought this was comparable.

We had a Jack in the Box near college. I went there twice.

The first time, they had some big sign up advertising some kind of sandwich in a biscuit. I asked if I could order a chicken sandwich and get it in a biscuit. I expected a quick yes or no. The employee went to talk to the manager and came back about 5 minutes later and very snottily told me they'd do it this time but they won't do it again. ???? I simply asked... a "no" would have been fine. I wasn't in any way rude or being demanding.

The second time I went, I saw a very large guy making the hamburgers, wearing no gloves, start to sneeze and wiped his nose on his arm and hand, then went back to making the burgers. I walked out. Never went back.

I was in Maryland when this went down. A ten minute drive from the hotel. The police chief blamed it on the samwich not a word on the pack of dogs standing by telling the killer to stab him again and again. Not a word about the quality of people in the store.
Every night on the news, stories about cops being called to Popeyes 3 and 4 times a day over fights. Rival dope dealers fighting in the stores. Women being beaten by their pimps, oh the police chief could call them HOs or Pimps.
Yea the Rat Infested Maryland has both four and two legged parasites.
