Let's get everyone's opinions as to a location for an upstate meet and greet. As folks read this just name a convenient location and we can narrow it down from there. I'll throw the town of Lyman out there.
Hi, dirtroadlivin. Welcome to Survivalist Boards. My family and I live near Lexington, SC and we have property in Aiken County - the Batesburg/Pelion,Wagener area. There are quite a few of us on this board from the western Midlands area.
Appreciate that. Seems tough to find like minded folks. I think most of us keep quiet, I do probably to a more extreme degree (more my personality than "opsec" methinks)
Not far from Aiken county, homesteading and loving it, learning tons.
Perhaps will be able to meet some neighbors in the future. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
I hope you do get to meet your neighbors. I understand about OPSEC but I also know we have to lower our guard down a bit if we want to form friendships, learn who we can count on in an emergency or learn skills from one another. I have the idea that none of us are an island and all of us can get into a situation where knowing who we can count on is imperative. After S(stuff)HTF, knowing who to trust will be hit or miss but we'll have to take the chance because we didn't form alliances beforehand.
Meet & Greets are fun, informative and educational. I miss attending them. Should you be interested in having one for the midlands or western midlands families, please count me in and I'd be glad to help set one up. They don't have to be at someone's house. In fact, almost all the ones I've attended were held in public places like parks (skill training) or restaurants (discussion). I have given my personal contact information to a few people and even invited a few to my home but not until I felt comfortable doing so.
