Default Magnums!

Advertise Here

Just some thoughts......

Magnums right now should be your weapon of choice during times like these

With large helpings of slow burning powder, it will actually disinfect the air in front of you

Plus with a magnum, you can take out your targets from a much greater distance

Those with the less than manly cartridges will only be able to stop the hoards of infected at much closer and dangerous distances in which a magnum will have disinfected a vast array of area

Magazine capacity won't keep you from getting infected

That's why I shoot 10mm, doubles as a flame thrower.

I have a couple 10mms
I like them
My non-magnum .45 Colt Rugers put the 10mm to shame
Enen the .357 magnum is more gun than a 10mm
Then there is .454, .460, .475, .480, .500
Which all are super-awesome
A solid hit with any of these is a fight stopper

BTW The O/P gave me a much needed laugh
300/296/110 disinfectants

I will see your 45 colt, and raise you a 445 super mag.
Loaded with 30g grains of W296, it pushes a 300g sierra JSP at 1800 f/s out of my 14" contender.
Social distancing at its best, it should kill all the viruses within 100 yds.

440 grain S&W 500 is fun out of my rifle. It is less fun out of the pistol but still sufficient for germ control.

You are talking around 3,000 ft lbs plus for a .500 mag in a rifle

Yeah the folks at Thompson Center did a great job on their shock absorption. It will push you back a good bit but I can still shoot it without feeling bruised. Mounted a Romeo 5 RDS to it and it is a fine little brush gun. Still have not shot anything with it, hopefully will get something with it this year.

I got a 375H&H in the safe right now, burns 85 grains of powder. Not actually my rifle, just selling it for a friend. Should any infected circus elephants try and steal my food preps or harass my family, I am ready.

I have a s/w 686, but until reading this thread, I never considered the health benefits of owing a magnum . With the corona virus sweeping the land, perhaps doctors should write prescriptions for magnum relvovers, which can be filled at any pharmacy.

Had no idea that magnums were friendly for the environment.....lol
Gotta love it...

I will pass on a " magnum " however.

My cartridge of choice is a runt next to 300win mag, uses the same bullet ( s) , has much less felt recoil, costs less, dumps critters out as far as I can shoot ( a bit over 700 meters under decent conditions)ovaround 4 times the bbl life ,weighs less per loaded cartridge,( about the same weight as 44magnum) , and no need to reload until 20rds later.

Magazine capacity can in fact keep others from getting infected ( or spreading infection for that matter).....until its time to reload.

The beasts in below pics didn't shrug it off and walk away.....even thou it was such a puny cartridge... but too be honest. ....none of them were infected at the time.
Good excuse for a magnum.

When it comes to magnums, I prefer Trojans. Good quality brand for protection.

While 'technically' not a magnum handgun - This one works similarly BUT also disinfects the air above you at the same time as it does the air in front...

At 1400 fps and about 1000 ft lbs at the muzzle with 230 grains of cleaning ability each use - this really makes cleaning fun!

Only downside is the limited number of cleanings that can be done before a guy has to insert another 'fully semi auto high capacity cleansing clip thingie'.

I would carry my 460 S&W mag but the weight makes me walk crooked and in circles. I need another to even things out.
