Default $10 NRA memberships

NRA and other groups such a Gun owners of America show memberships soaring I saw reported on the news. Lets keep it up to make sure our voices are heard.

The first link is for the NRA page. click on the center tab for Junior/distinguished/other for $10 NRA memberships.

Second link is for the Gun Owners of America and its $20 Annual Membership.

Most of us spend more than the cost of these on soda's or coffee in a few weeks time. Now is the time to step up.

I can't even donate money to GOA, simply because I'm outside the United States and their website doesn't support donations or membership applications from outside the United States.

I'm thinking about it. I understand foreigners like myself can join but I'm not sure what the benefit is to me other than making a point. A point that most probably couldn't care less about.

But I do encourage every American who values their 2nd amendment rights to join the NRA. The only way to stop your rights from being stripped from you is to show you are united and numerous and resolute. Politicians understand numbers and resolve, if nothing else.

Perhaps the Gun Owners of America might be a more solid organization to support, even though the NRA has been 'helpful' for many years. I just want to caution people that the NRA has supported Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Dirty Harry was rated by the NRA in 2010 as a B- candidate for his fairly good support of the 2nd Amendment. But the NRA withheld support of either candidate even though Sharon Angle was rated by the NRA as a rock solid A+ candidate with unwavering support of the 2nd Amendment in her personal and political career.

Any thoughts on Scary Harry's position on gun control lately?

PS: 4 of the 4 members in my family are life NRA members. My youngest son was born in 2010, and I couldn't rationalize their behavior enough to send them another $500 or $600 at that time.

Agreed. Historically, I've been in full support of the NRA but they're a bit too quick to compromise these days. I've begun to give more financial support to the GOA this past year.

I'm an NRA recruiter, but I belong to several pro 2A organizations. If you don't want to support the NRA, at least support one of the others. We need to pull together now more than we ever have before. So please lend your support somewhere. It's a numbers game and we're the numbers.

I renewed my NRA a few weeks ago. Just joined the GOA tonight.
